For those who like history. Many things to see, beautiful design, you need definitely more than 2 hours to pay attention to all the exponates.

I'll have to be honest - I am not a big fan of Ancient Greek or Roman history. Nevertheless, this museum did not fail to impress with its wealth of ancient artefacts, relics and statues from those eras. It's amazing to see so many well-preserved, life-size statues and sarcophagi with such intricate details, complete with bilingual explanations of each in English and Turkish. The museum inside houses a vast collection, but you can find even more relics placed outdoors in the museum courtyard. There is even a small bird-house with a couple of peacocks and fancy breeds of chicken for some reason. The museum can be easily reached via tram from Kaleiçi. It is within a five to seven minutes walking distance from Konyaaltı Beach. I recommend going to the museum first, then relax on the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

being an archaeological buff I very much enjoyed this museum. It was very well detailed and filled with many artifacts. They even had art and some contemporary artifacts (rugs and the such). 85% of the information however was in Turkish. There were some comments in English but very little. You can take pictures in this place but of course like the majority of the museums not flash. Staff was very friendly and answered some of my questions.

Out of all the things to do in Antalya I honestly thought this was one of the better ones. Lots off great artefacts from the perge site.

The museum was a short tram ride up the coast from Kaleici where we were staying. The building is large and quite imposing but once inside you are rewarded with amazing statues and sarcophagus from ancient Roman cities (mainly Perge). There are so a wealth of Turkish and early Christian displays. The museum is a must see day out and takes a good few hours to look round properly. Once we had visited the inside we had a drink and some lunch at the outside cafe that is surrounded by yet more ancient pieces of marble ruines with elaborate carvings.I will mention that when entering the museum you are not allowed to take rucksacks in with you but they do supply lockers for you to store them safely before you enter.

This is the most SPECTACULAR collection of statuary from Antiquity I have ever seen. Even the Met in New York or the Getty in Los Angeles, or even the museums of Rome, don't have a collection this amazing. Literally dozens of huge statuary, burial vaults, bas relief facades, it just goes on and on. This is simply a MUST SEE when in Antalya. Takes about 2-3 hours unless you want to read each plague. Air conditioned, nice souvenir and cafe also. Don't miss this - it's a special thrill and treat. Young children will likely be bored. Photo taking is allowed including flash I believe. Fee is very modest - affordable. Plenty of parking in front, and I think there are bus connections from the city as it's kind of a in a suburb because of it's enormous size.
