This shop has a little bit of everything! We enjoyed tea and an entertaining chat with Ali when we wandered by after a wonderful dinner in the town square. We had no intention to buy anything, but couldn't resist the hand made boots for me and shoes for my husband which were shipped home to us in Canada. Very comfortable and good quality.

We stayed in Selcuk for a week ln October 2014. This is by far the best art gallery and shop in town!! Ali and his brother were so helpful and knowledgable about all their items and the history and workmanship of the art. We were looking for handmade Iznik tiles and Ali spent a lot of time with us explaining about the tiles, how they are made etc and the different patterns and colors and the symbolism behind the designs. It was so interesting and Ali was sincere and honest. He wasn't pushy at all and really took the time to answer all our questions. He offered us tea and water and was really interested in us and where we were from and what we wanted. He gave us good advice and we ended up doing a custom order of Iznik tiles of two large framed panels with the "Tree of Life" pattern. Of course, a person kind of worries about doing an expensive order, that needs to be shipped back home, but with Ali, there should be no worry.. He was so professional and we kept in contact via email until our order arrived in perfect condition. The tiles arrived all intact, perfectly packaged with no damage. The custom order was exactly what we ordered and the quality and workmanship on the tiles are perfect and they are beautiful. We visited him and his gallery almost everyday while we were in Selcuk. We often had tea with him and we discussed many things. He is very intelligent and his English is excellent. We learned so much about Turkey and the Turkish people. This was during the Festival of Eid and Ali generously gave me a beautiful table cloth as a gift. We also purchased some other things from his gallery and felt very comfortable that they were antiques and the genuine thing. This was one of our favorite experiences while we spent three weeks in Turkey. Thanks Ali!!!

The owner, Ali, is very friendly and knowledgeable. You not only get great souvenirs, but a history and culture lesson too (and tea!). I came away with a beautiful copper lantern and AMAZING hand made all leather boots.

The shop has many beautiful pieces to choose from. The owner Ali makes his own leather shoes to order, if only we had the time. Ali was very helpful and friendly he didn't push us to buy instead sat and had tea with us. This shop is worth a look

Thank you to Ali for sharing not only his insights on the many finely crafted goods in his shop, but also for sharing in wonderful conversation and making us feel so welcomed here. Come visit La Tulip if you are in the area- meeting Ali is well worth a visit, and you will not find a finer offering of wonderful Turkish crafts! Thank you Ali!

On my way from Antalya to Istanbul, I stayed in Selcuk for 3 nights, it was a welcome relief from tourist filled towns. While I was waiting for my No Frills Ephesus Tour I browsed La Tulip Art Gallery which is located across the street/kitty corner. At first encounter I took La Tulip Art Gallery for granted but now I realize it is unique and not like every other shop. I walked all over Istanbul and never found a shop that even came close to their reasonable prices, quality and variety of the jewelry, ceramics, tiles, shawls, hand crafted ottoman leather shoes and bags and unique hand crafted tapestry bags. The owner of La Tulip Art Gallery, Ali, is a true artisan and handcrafts soft leather shoes (Ottoman style) that he mastered as an apprentice to his grandfather. Ali, one of seven siblings, grew up in Selçuk.I did purchase a beautiful necklace (picture posted) and then it was time to leave for the Ephesus tour. The days slipped away and I figured that I would be able to find the same things in Istanbul and it was very frustrating later to find out that was not the case.By luck I had their business card with email address latulipferhatbayar@gmail.com and now back home I have contacted them and they are going to ship me a box of the things I liked. Plan to get my Christmas shopping done early.

This place is the best in Selçuk. Ali (the owner) is great explaining how he made his products and very nicely and wisely he make you want everything he sells. Amazing. We came two times and in the second time he made us feel as friends. It was a very nice experience.

Ali owns this shop and he has packed it to the brim with fantastic wares. Put aside a couple of hours to do justice to this little shop. Try on Ali's home made shoes - so comfortable. Listen to his stories about the shoe making competitions he enters in Italy. Ali will also give you all the background information you need to feel comfortable about buying his beautiful Izmir tiles. Lots of ceramics, backgammon sets, water pipes, jewellery and leather bags also . Ali loves to talk about your country and in turn he provides a great insight into his own country. The tea is pretty good too!

We went to this Gallery twice because Ali is so awesome. 2 of my regrets in life are that I cannot pop into Ali's shop whenever I want and that I didn't take a picture with him before we left town. When my husband and I travel, we love to mingle among the locals, learning what their life and culture is like. Ali is exactly the type of person we will always remember. We talked for a while about his family, Turkey, the crisis in Syria, and so many other things. He has so many interesting stories. I could go on and on about Ali, but just trust me and everyone else that has posted here: Go!His shop is great. He has things that all of the other typical touristy places have of course, but he also has some really authentic, unique things as well. He makes shoes and they are just lovely. My husband and I ran to the ATM to get money (because we weren't planning to spend much or even anything on souvenirs in Selcuk), and it was so incredibly worth it. These shoes are easily my favorite things from our trip. (Sometimes we talk about contacting Ali so we can get him to send us more shoes...it will probably happen eventually!)Go to Selcuk, visit this shop, learn something new, buy really awesome shoes!

This shop is a fantastic place to visit not only for the beautiful hand crafted shoes and other Turkish souvenirs but also for the cultural experience. Have a tea with Ali and his family and soak up the culture.

Ali loves his job and has a wonderful collection of jewelry, porcelain, tiles and handmade shoes. You not only get an education on Turkish artists and stories about the treasurers but a taste of his passion for what he does. We purchased tiles, jewelry and handmade shoes for my husband.I loved learning about the artists and the works of art along the hospitality and tea. Be prepared to drink lots of tea and good conversation.

This is an amazing shop on the corner of the main mall in Selcuk. Ali is a lovely man who makes the most beautiful comfortable Turkish Otterman shoes and boots. I bought a pair of shoes and had a pair of lovely short red boots sent to me after I arrived home in Australia. They are extreemly well made and fully leather lined and so many beautiful colours to choose from. La Tulip is filled with exquisit jewellery, tiles, shoes and so much more. Don't miss it when you're in Selcuk.
