Hi.Our 4 weeks holiday to Paphos over Xmas & new year was quite good but the last few days where very wet and windy which is not the norm for that time of the year (we where unlucky). I would say Paphos is not for the young at heart that time of the year anyway, there is a nice habour there with an old castle at the bottom end and plenty of places to eat along the front. The old town of Paphos is still very much the same as it was but there is a lot of buildings unfinished as the country is not growing at this time.
Happy New Year! Thank you for your review - it was a pleasure having you with us on Boxing Day and glad you forged such a great bond with the lovely Megatron! You picked a great day for your ride and you did fabulously well, I'm happy you both enjoyed your time with us! All the very best and hope to see you again soon :-)
My daughter went on this sunset tour. She had a fantastic time. The scenery was stunning. The horses were very safe and well groomed. She would definately go again to Ride In Cyprus and recommend the ride to all her friends. Thank you Caroline you gave her a perfect day. .
I absolutely loved the relaxed manner that Caroline is around the horses and how laid back they are. But if you are up for a good canter they pick up on that as well. The landscape is amazing with breathtaking views with mountains, sea, abandoned villages, lake and what impressed me most was riding in the woods, like back in Europe. All the tracks are on remote routes with no cars or much signs of civilization. It was an amazing experience which I would recommend it to anyone, any level of experience, to enjoy some time out in the beautiful surroundings while bonding with one of these lovely horses.
I visited at short notice and Caroline was away but I had a great time riding with Luke and Stefanie. Carolines absence may have been a blessing in disguise as I got to ride the fabulous Alphonzo, who is apparently her usual lead horse. As an experienced rider I was a little unsure if I'd have enough fun, and I was also on my own but having read the review on here I decided to go anyway. I booked 2 half day rides with an overnight stay in a yurt. Due to some logistical problems I was very late arriving but Luke and Stefanie were very patient and didn't make me feel a nuisance. We set off as soon as we were ready and had a lovely evening ride arriving at the yurts just before sunset, where we were welcomed by the lovely Pawel, the horses stayed in the yard below the yurts and Pawel provided a beautiful meal and is a fabulous host, the yurts are incredibly comfy and peaceful. After a delicious breakfast Luke and Stefanie arrived and we tacked up for the ride home, rain was looming and they had brought waterproof gear with them for me to borrow. in spite of a fair amount of rain it was still an absolutely incredible ride back, over all sorts of terrain, with some good canters and a few gallops that will satisfy most good riders. I am certain they would not go faster than anyone was happy with though, each time they asked before we went faster. There was spectacular scenery and I particularly loved the forrest ride back, winding up and down the mountain ( maybe they are only big hills but they were big :-) ) The trusty Alphonzo never put a foot wrong but was a really great fun ride, willing and responsive. When we arrived back the horses were stabled and quickly had a nice feed to scoff, they are well looked after and fit for the job with good sound tack. I'd recommend this to anyone whatever their level of riding, I am an experienced rider and have also have taught riding for many years and I know that a novice would be well looked after here.
Our horse ride here was such an amazing experience! The horses were so nice and well taken care of. We chose the route along some abandoned villages which was a really interesting and enjoyable. Very reasonably priced as well for the great horses and the surroundings. I would recommend this place and its horses to anyone! Wish I could return here soon. Make sure you follow the directions they give you on the website, Google maps gets it very wrong! :-)
This was the first time we hired horses, as both have only really been on horses belonging to friends. We are not particularly good riders. It is only after hiring horses again somewhere after this that I realised just how good this place is.The horses are very well looked after and Caroline ensures they get to know you before you go out. We had a great ride and were inspired to do it again elsewhere as a result. Jodhpurs and boots are provided. Book ahead though! Would definitely go here again.
Just returned from a morning riding with Ride in Cyprus with my 5 year old horse mad daughter, due to being November it was only myself and my daughter along with the owners son and 3 great little dogs running with us. My daughter rode whilst the horse was lead by the owners son and she felt safe at all times and loved her morning ride through some stunning scenery. I being a beginner rode on my own, the horse was extremely good and I too felt safe at all times. We both had a fantastic morning and would defiantly recommend to anyone thinking of going...
A little late with our review, but nothing other than good things to say!My daughter and her friend - both 13 - are reasonably experienced riders, but I'm an absolute novice; so it was with some trepidation that I booked the overnight trek for us. I really needn't have worried as the whole experience was incredible. The evening trek to Pawel's yurts was initially rather scary, but very memorable. I did come off my horse - the gentle giant Megatron - but it was my error! We dined under the stars and then slept in the beautifully decorated yurts located in the countryside. The early morning ride back to the stables was the high point for me. The air was cool and fresh, and my trust in Megatron was assured. The terrain is rugged and obviously hilly, but Caroline's knowledge of the land and it's history made it all extremely interesting. On the way back to Paphos we stopped at Steni for lunch, and had the best meal of our holiday. We visited the wonderful museum there, and then ate at the watermill cafe; wonderful!!A fantastic couple of days, and ones we'll never forget!
My b.f and me were both beginners as far as horse riding goes, but caroline and her son luke made us feel very comfortable and taught us the basics in a matter of minutes. Easygoing company, lovely excursions along the hills of cyprus and a worthwhile exercise in the paphos holiday. If you are looking for something different to do in your holiday then we recommend this to you!
Great time to be had . With super scenic views of Cyprus. The Owner Caroline is a dear along with her son Luke. If you want to see Cyprus like you never have, this event is a must do.*****The cost is a pittance for what a great time you get. Lets not forget the horses which are beautiful, well mannered and easy to handle, even for first timers, as my wife was.So, all in all, I rate it a 10/10JOVAN
This is a great place to ride with well loved and cared for horses. My husband has never ridden before and went on Megatron, I rode Harry, my 6 year old son rode Clip Clip, and my 4 year old daughter rode Fauntleroy. These lads are just awesome. Once we realised that my daughters riding lessons at home hadn't adequately covered steering, Luke kindly led her by foot and Caroline rode and led my son. The scenery is absolutely stunning and Caroline was great at explaining all the land formations and history. Megatron was such a good boy, and once my husband Ben got the basics of steering then he relaxed into the ride. I don't think I would do the ride with the kids if we were both novices (I have my own horse at home) as it was nice at least one of us being confident in the saddle. Ben has spent years driving me to dressage competitions at home and listens into my lessons, however he said afterwards that he was unprepared for how tricky he found mastering the basics. I think that everyone is different, and he felt that if he had of had a lesson at home in preparation (all our local stables have a 12 stone weight limit though and he is a beer loving rugby player!) that he would have been able to relax into the ride sooner than he did. But he did well and felt so proud of himself! The hats, boots, jodhpurs that we hired were clean and comfy, and Luke got some great shots on my camera. As we drove home my son said "I have that view locked in my head" and my daughter shouted "me too!". Priceless experience :)
Are you a travel writer, with your fabulous eloquence?!! Thank you for posting your wonderful review and I'm delighted you enjoyed your rides - I have passed on your comments to Luke which brought a big smile :-)
Thank you! Your review is much appreciated! I'm glad we managed to cater for all your standards, but that was also very much down to your willingness to go with the flow! Looking forward to your next visit :-)
Thank you! I really love it that you appreciate how loved the horses are and remind me next time to carry your camera for you - I usually have a pouch on the breastplate so I can take photos of YOU! Looking forward to your next visit ..... and you will have some lovely photos.... of you on a horse!
