Most of Gusen Concentration Camp is gone but the memorial manages to preserve the crematorium and a small portion of the camp foundation. Many of the surrounding buildings were once part of this place of horrors. The camp commandant's villa still exists and is occupied by a resident of Gusen. Taking a tour with a knowledgeable guide is a must.
