hallstatt viewing platform

We actually did the Salt mine tour that starts up by the viewing platform. If you want to do the viewing platform I would also do the salt mine tour as well. Both are worth doing for sure! This part of Austria is sooooo beautiful! Must visit!

Amazing view ... I was there when it was snowing the far view was not of the party but the area was super above the lake...

During the winter there is not the train, so you have to walk the mountain. Keep water and must go with care.

From the places I've this was the best in Austria it was a mixer of natural beauty and historical atmosphere simply so enjoyable .

Hallstatt is truly the most mesmerizing place I have ever been to. The huge mountain with a beautiful quite lake and small Austrian town looking up to the mountains makes it too divine. A must visit place, the hotels are almost booked in Hallstatt so we chose Obertraun, beautiful town on the other side of the lake facing Hallstatt. I liked they don't have any big starred, modern hotels anywhere in the town, they have maintained the old charm of the city with those old traditional houses

Be sure to come and enjoy the view which goes far far away, you can stay for a few hours just looking into the distance and do nothing. Lookout is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, it takes about 15 minutes walk from the center including the ride with cable car to the top.

Feels like you're in the middle of story in this area. And the view from up here is great. You should not miss it, even if the cable car might seem expensive.It is not high enough to go up in the clouds, so you get a nice view almost all the time.

If you haven't been to this tiny little village, then you simply haven't seen the shadow of heaven. Hallstatt is simple beautiful.

Cannot say anything more- you must visit this Viewing Platform. No matter if you hike up or go up by the Cablecar, amazing view is awaiting for you. In perfect sunny days, you can enjoy the breathtaking view high above the Lake and rooftops of Hallstatt.There is only one problem with this platform, Rudolfsturm is not as visible from the town as it was before because the platform is partially covering it.

A must, if in Hallstatt. The view from there is something unique, that you will not easilly find it somewhere else. There are two paths to get you there and back in town, named H & S. Try both of them, one for each way. You will need about one hour to complete both routes.

Before you even get to the top of the viewing platform is one of the most fun drives we had through Germany and Austria! We drove through Hallstatt while driving from Salzburg to Vienna and it was probably one of the best parts of our trip. We made several stops along the way and this town is clean, friendly, adorable, small and a great stop along the way! The view are gorgeous! We went in late October and the weather was just perfect, leaves were changing!

It was a beautiful clear sunny day when I arrived here to take in the magnificent stunning scenery. What a lovely view! Relaxed on the terrace of the nearby hotel/resturant for a cool drink & strudel Yummy!

That place, with the correct weather is breathtaking, you can spend some time there just thinking about the life. Is has a path though the mountain that you can do a very nice walking, about 1 hour. I recomend to go up in the `train` and go down by that path.

.... you need to take the funiculaire on the west side of the village, same as you take to go to the Salt Mine. This is a UNESCO heritage site as it gives you a breath taking view of the Salzkammergut region. Even with clouds all around this is magical! There is a restaurant next to the platform. The platform is free to access, but you need to either take the funiculaire railway or hike for 1 hour in the nice path to reach it.

If you are looking for a relaxing and mind soothing experience, taking a trip from Salzburg for an hour by driving is just worth it. Peaceful and quiet Experience is what you will get the most out of this place. Air is just so fresh. In addition, the driving route is definitely scenic.
