This tower is simply fantastic. Once on top the view is second to none. You can see the entire Wörthersee and beyond and admire the beautiful landscape. If you are visiting Carinthia for whatever reason and are in the area, you should definitely climb the tower and enjoy the sight. When it is not raining of course.
i was there and Really enjoyed with panorama view, it was really beautiful, nature and great atmosphere, you should go there I can only recommend
We went to the Pyramidenkogel in December. That day was very windy so the elevator to the top didn't work so they gave us a discounted tickets. But it was a nice walk up. The view on the top is really amazing but of course if it's sunny. You can see the whole lake and landscape surrounding it. On the way down they opened the slide but you have to pay extra for that. But it is really worth it. I mean from which tower can you descend on a slide :)
We hiked up to the tower from Plaschischen. It takes you a little more than 90mins to get up and a little less to walk down. The view is spectacular from the tower and a great fun is to slide down in the tube
We first saw the Pyramidkogel as it was right across Worthersee and we saw it from our hotel balcony. We took the elevator up and our breath was taken away by the 360 degrees panoramic view. The only thing missing at the top was signs stating what we were seeing.
I visited the Pyramidenkogel with my wife. From a distance its impressive. As you stand underneath it and look up, it is simply a feat of modern, wooden engineering. It takes your breath away in more ways than one! There's a choice to ascend the structure, either by glass lift or by the stairs. We chose the stairs and were glad we did. The views change at each level and become ever more impressive. there are 3 levels at the top, one of which is indoors, one covered, and the very top level is more of a platform. The top level offers vertigo inducing views that rival anything you can imagine, over the dramatic Karawanken mountains, the iconic Worthersee Lake and far beyond in all directions. Descending the structure gives a choice of 3 ways. Stairs, glass lift or the tube slide! There is a gift shop here, and outdoor kids play area, bathroom facilities and a lovely restaurant - the GenussWirt am Pyramidenkogel. This is a fabulous attraction that is a must if you are in the area.
A great view at the beautiful mountains of austria! Also the road to the tower is very nice to ride! Too bad the long slide inside the tower costs extra money! Free to use when you have a karntencard.
Once you get up there, Carinthia is on your palm; beautiful Wörthersee, mountains, Keutschach lake and Klagenfurt...I would recommend going up by stairs and DEFINITELY sliding back down because it is breathtaking. Not cheep at all but amazing experience.
Firstly, if you are doing the touristy thing in the area, it is worth looking at the Kaernten Card as it would give you free/discounted entry to loads of great places such as the Pyramidenkogel (and some less great!).The day we visited the lift wasn't working which was good in a away as we savoured the view on the climb to the top. The view from the platforms at the top are out of this world. We elected to take the fast way down by means of the chute/slide. It was thrilling and does leave you feeling a little dizzy by the bottom but it certainly beats walking all the way down again! The charge for the slide is an extra couple of euros I seem to think but be warned, you have to carry your sliding mat and elbow protectors up the stairs with you!!
This was well worth the price and the ride up the windy road in our awful rental car. The structure itself is quite amazing and the views were breathtaking. A true highlight of our trip. Next time, I will slide down.
After years of going back and forth, the old tower was finally torn down and a new one built in its place. Fantastic construction, well worth a visit.
Very good overview - elevator brings you up. Unfortunately were no orientation signs fixed by now. The restaurant Genusswelt at the entrance is very recommandable.
Honestly- who would have thought there would truly be a helter-skelter this long, and this high up? I suspected a joke .Well worth the effort and price; but be prepared later to see people looking at you oddly - that goofy smile won't leave your face for days. And the views are not bad, neither are the refreshments and toilets. Cycling down was a bit hairy though; hairpin bends, beers and bonkers architecture are a heady mix....
Breathtaking view from the highest wooden watching tower! Were there few days ago, the weather was excellent so we could fully enjoy the beautiful mountain and lake landscapes. When going down from the tower choose the slide pipe to do it - there are two options of slide there - slow and quick. Strongly recommended to visit!
View was really unique!!The only negative was the really bad road at the 1-2 almost last km ..Staff very polite..lift comfortable..we had "rutschenbahn" unfortunatelly not used..sure the next time ..price almost 10 € ( for 1 person not too much ,for a big family not few)..
