The Ski Amade in St Johann im Pongau / Alpendorf must surely rate amongst the worlds best. It never dissappoints!Snow conditions were perfect and if you don't ski try your hand at tabogganing - what a great experience. A family holiday at its best.
We stayed in Alpendorf.. Nice Place to ski and with the G link connection there are great places to ski. alpendorf is a nice place to be. Next time we might consider wagrain or flachau
Good skiing access and area with reasonable variety of runs. Great free wifi at stations. Surprisingly not very busy when we visited and great conditions.
All the ski lifts, gondolas and all things to do with the ski process are clean, efficient and very well run
Huge ski area, however as always these days you get the idiot speed skiiers shooting down the blue runs when ideally they should stick to the red and black. Too many people, biglift queues, ski school meeting place for Hermann Maeir was just carnage!
We come here every year and never get bored. The weather is generally good and the skiing caters for all abilities.
Great place to come and ski with the whole family. Good slopes for all abilities and easy to get about.
Outstanding resort, free wifi on the mountain and a free app for smart phones makes tracking your day fun.
The skiing facilities are great, suiting almost every requirement a person can have. The infrastructure is impressive and the quality of the ski slopes is one of the best.
Good area for intermediates, there are not many blacks and few beginner runs. Dorfgastein area very good for a a day ski over to Grobarl.
We enjoying skiing with whole family in Ski Amade for one week. The slopes are great! Also, we found a few restaurants that we really enjoyed during our skiing. We loved the area!
Tons of fast, open runs interlinked between Alpendorf, Wagrain, Flachau. I was there 6 days and didn't find the need to go anywhere else. Beautiful area overlooking the Salzach River valley and very family friendly. Ski pass is a great bargain. Didn't get new snow while I was there (winter 2014 was historically dry) so can't speak to off-piste areas.Nothing overly challenging but the open runs are very fast.
Great skiing, loads of family run restaurants and bars. Good value lift tickets, and this year new lifts in the Alpendorf area improved the facilities.
This ski area has lots to offer, lots of interlinked valleys, good choice of nursery slopes on the Wagrain side, plenty of mountain huts and good choice of cuisine both on and off slope.
Skied in Alpendorf, Wagrain, Flachau, Bad Hofgastein, Angertal and Stubnerkogel.During week 12 the weather was somewhat "summer"-like, since in the valleys it was +22 degrees celcius. This meant that the slopes were filled with slush in direct sunlight from the very beginning in the morning. Only Jungeralmbahn in Stubnerkogel was still really good around noon and slopes around the lift were a bit more demanding then e.g. in Slochssalm. Maybe the best slope was the red one beneath Senderbahn on Stubnerkogel.Angertals linking slopes were almost melted away, so can't really say anything good about those. Slochssalm was totally slush and there were 2 slow chair and one express chair which was closed due technical malfunction so didn't like it at all - Could I choose again I'd go to Dorfgastein where I've been before and stay in the Gipfelexpress Fulseck (length 1028m / difference 379m) which was really nice lift with superb slopes around!Flachau was also heavily slushed due morning sun everyday, but the tops of Wagrain and Alpendorf were also nice, though a bit too short or easy.Der Rote 8ter Gondola with its winterworld WAS superb for families - 4 lifts with slopes, lots of snow toys, etc and A BASE-building fitted for Childcare (full kitchen, toilet, baby nyrsery corner, playroom filled with toys)! Just perfect and "easy" access with the Gondola - to the midstation.
