I keep visiting Santorini and the vineyard every year. It is a place to be, offering great environment, tasty wines and food.
Possibility to taste a selection of quality wines right next to the vineyards and enjoy the sun at the same time. Connoisseurs of wine will love it.
This was an unexpected treat when our driver took us here on our tour of the island. Coming from California and close to Napa, Sonoma valley wineries, I have a lot of delicious wine to enjoy. This winery had the ambiance of a Napa Valley winery and was very inviting with the wine flights you could enjoy along with cheese and meats to enjoy with your tastings. They offered a flight of 12, but we split it up amongst four of us, hey, the day was still young. One of the favorite reds was the Mavrotragano 2012. Delicious, and great with the cheese. There was the cute resident kitten near by, and a few more on the patio. Had the weather been warmer we'd have been tasting on the patio with an ocean view. They bring the tastings to you with a very nice set up so you know what you are tasting. Highly recommend this winery while in Santorini.
We took the Fira-Oia bus and asked the driver to drop us off as close as he could. We walked approx 1 mile to the winery. Wine just tastes better in the vineyard. We did a tasting, which was very affordable. We asked our waiter to call us a taxi for the ride home, and the driver came in no less than 10 minutes.
We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Sigalas Winery. We went for a late lunch and wine tasting. The restaurant tables are on a terrace looking over the vines and it is beautifully quiet, understated and tasteful. The wine tasting is a treat. We shared tasting the full menu of around 13 wines. A sample of each is served in a wineglass set out on a mat that indicates which wine is which. It was €13 euros to taste the wine this way and because we had paid to taste we felt no obligation to buy and bottles at the end ( even though we did!). The food was very tasty too and well presented. We spent a couple of hours sipping the wines and giving them scores. This was one of our favourite Santorini moments.
We visited this winery on our penultimate day and wish we had found it before. It does a great wine tasting, order however many wines and they give you a booklet explaining them. They also do a great selection of food so would have made a great lunch venue. The setting is nice, next to the vineyards and the service well informed.
We visited a few wineries while in Santorini and this was the best (IMO). They staff were friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and helpful information. The location is certainly a bit away from the main drag, but worth it since it is not crowded or flooded with other tourists (or cruise ship folks).
Had the wine and gourmet tour..excellent personal guide in the vine yard with Theos..nice finger foods and platters..very good wines..enjoyed it..
We went to Sigalas winery for a wine tasting and light lunch. They provide a nice wine tasting for about 13 euro that can easily be shared among 2 people (about 12 tasting portions). We also ordered a salad that was delicious and also a good portion to share. Our server was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our food and wine under their shaded patio. They provided a helpful booklet that explained the qualities of each wine which was helpful to follow along with during the tasting. The bottles for purchase are very reasonably priced and the wines were very tasty and some of them quite unique. If you enjoy wine, highly recommend a stop by Sigalas winery as part of your time in Santorini!
We came here for the wine tasting, which was a great decision! In a lovely atmosphere on the terrace next to the vineyard we ordered the full wine tasting consisting of 12 glasses. One is enough for a couple to share. You could order food too, but we were going to Oia for dinner later so we just had the wines. We loved the whole experience and bought some bottles with our favourite wines to bring back home. We recommend the wine tasting at Domaine Sigalas for a lovely afternoon, combined with a visit to Oia later in the evening.
From the outside this does not look like much, but inside ! Lovely terrace on the side of the winery with the shop next to it. Great food (chocolate and plum desert with recommended desert wine was just too good) tasting wine option where you get a little of each if the 12 wines produced here is an excellent way to try everything and I bet you go onto to have a larger glass of your favorite. In the middle of nowhere so cab / car is essential but worth making the effort to find
Gorgeous, authentic feeling wine farm with the best wine we tasted in Santorini. We didn't try any of the food as we were on our way to dinner but I can imagine sitting on the terrace at dusk with a chilled glass and cheese platter amongst the vines would be heavenly.
Stopped by to have a mini wine tasting and stayed for the food after looking at the menu. Not many items but everything we ate was really good. The bakaliáros (dehydrated cod) was the highlight of the menu for me. Difficult to find a similar dish in whole of Santorini. My companions were sick of greek salad but we still ordered it and they were won over by the sweet and juicy cherry tomatoes. Dining alfresco, next to the vineyard with Aegean sea view to boot made this one of the highlight in our (too short) Santorini experience.
Great thing at this winery was the fact, that we actually were seated "in" the wineyard. With an view directly to one of the grapes to their redwine, we enjoyed our time. Could have needed a more personal presentation of the wine, like some of the other places.
We booked a wine tasting for 4, we tried 10 super nice santorini wines, our host was enthusiastic and even offered us some appetizers to fit with the wine. Excellent to start around 19hr and watch the sunset!
