"Kalo Livadi" does not stand among the most famous and trendy beaches in Mykonos. It is pretty much a more local beach, attended by residents and Greek tourists. Not far from "Elia" and "Agrari" beaches, "Kalo Livadi" may be a good option for a calmer and relaxing day. If you are not after fashionists and jetsetters, "Kalo Livadi" may be your "beach"! Easily reachable by car (or bus), "Kalo Livadi" has three beach tavernas, with nice menus and reasonable prices. Soft sands, clear waters and a gentle breeze complete the scenary. Enjoy!
Best beach on the island. Soft sand, clear blue warm sea - perfect for swimming. Barbarola is the best bar on the beach with fantastic staff, cold beer and really comfy chill out seats to match the chill out music.
Gorgeous sandy bay with 3 tavernas and sunbeds. No commercial shops or loud music, just peace and quiet and crystal clear turquoise water.
My husband and I cruised down to this beach on our rented ATV to do some water sports on a windy day when it seemed like everything else was closed. We had a great time! Some of the sand was like small pebbles, but then some was like the softest cleanest sand ever! There was no music playing this day, which we loved! I get that these beach bars want to get the party going with the music, but sometimes you just want to hear the sound of the waves and relax to that instead. There were more random vendors walking along this beach than I noticed at others but no one bothered us. We went snorkeling at a secluded bay around the bend and the views of this beach coming and going by boat are just breathtaking! I couldn't get enough!
All other beaches we have been to were very stoney, this has the most gorgeous soft sand and a great choice of sunbeds and 3 tavernas.
Beautiful big beach, super facilities and lovely clear water. Worth the short drive and is a MUST whilst you visit Mykonos!
One of the best beaches in Mykonos, has 3 lovely restaurants and lovely water and sand, not too busy either.
If you are looking for a relatively quiet sandy beach with crystal clear calm water then this is a good choice. It wasn't very crowded when we visited at the beginning of September but was a bit busier down the end of the beach just outside Solymar restaurant. We hired 2 comfortable loungers with umbrella for €20 for the day which isn't unreasonable by Mykonos standards.Another plus point is that the beach was very clean. We ate in Solymar resturant and had a drink in Barbarola, both which were good. There is a bus service to and from Mykonos town which was useful (not sure how frequent). We arrived by taxi arranged by our hotel but couldn't get a taxi to take us back so got the bus for €2.
beautifull beach, ideal for watersports. beach bars are fair and play some lounge music, barbarola is the best beach bar for this beach
I will start all my analyses for Mykonos with the fact that wherever you go you shall expect higher prices than average because this is MYKONOS! Therefore, please do not whine about how expensive things are here. If that was an issue, there are multiple other nice greek islands to go. We went to Solymar which is at the far end of the beach. The sea here is crystal clear and the color of it a nice electric blue making it totally worth visiting.
Soft sand, crystal clear water, easy to access. There are 3 restaurant in this beach.Music and party all day long.
Beautiful and not too crowded beach on the southwest coast. Turquoise blue water and good atmosphere.
The beach here is pretty with an large sandy beach but it is crowded and overrun with rental chairs and bars/restaurants. There was a lot of water sports rental equipment here so if you are looking for that kind of stuff then go here.
Great beach. Big and lots of sunbeds without being overcrowded. Soft sand and a shallow beach so the waves aren't big. You are able to walk out quite far into the sea and the sea bed is lovely soft sand. The beach has 3 bars/restaurants which all looked great. We ate at solymar (see separate review) which was great. You need to reserve a sunbed at solymar in high season. The only downside is that it is harder to get to. We were in plaits gialos and the water taxi couldn't go this far and we would have to change bus in town. So this left either a taxi or hire a car. We had a car and drove which was fine.I would massively recommend it.
Nice, long and roomy beach- not on top of others like beaches nearby. Served by 3 restaurants (the best of which is the sublime Nice'n'Easy)
