Interesting but very modest museum. Worth seeing. Friendly museum personnel. Great views of the harbour
Je is the last descendant of the family that once ruled the castle and the whole island. Nowadays all those personal things in the exposition seem pretty sad and useless but the stories of the owner are breathtaking.
Cute little museum with a nice array of artifacts from the Venetian era. It's worth stopping in--you can do it in less than an hour.
Had a fun time watching a film in the castle grounds ,set ticket price with drinks included, monies help to fund the museum we think !!Amazing and memorable evening films start as the sunsets over the island.
This was a nice little museum with some nice pieces that show you a little of the history of life on the island. We got some great extra info on some of the exhibits from the curator. Our favorite this however was the entertainment events held here. They host movies and music. They make for an excellent nights entertainment! Ticket's also include wine, raki and ouzo!
We loved it and we learned a lot. The museum personnel are fantastic. They hosted a bouzoki evening that was a highlight of our visit.
The Venetian museum shows some insight of what life on the island may have been like over the last century but to a large extent it is a collection of antiques that is not very well put together. To some extent it is a bit like an elaborate garage sale. Staff were however very friendly and welcoming. The experience really wasn't worth the entry fee. Good view of the harbor and Naxos Town.
Rip off to see a collection of junk! Good view of the harbour..The medieval castle in Chora is one of the few residential complexes with the structure of a medieval city that is still entirely preserved in Greece. Twelve round towers as well as the houses built on the castle perimeter make up its wall. Only one of the towers is still standing to-date and one of the houses (claiming to be this venetian museum) is open to visitors and is this house of Roca-Barozi
We enjoyed our visit to the Venetian museum in Naxos Kastro. Entry cost 5€ a person and it only took us about 20 minutes or so to see it all, but it was an interesting addition to our wanders around the Kastro area.
This place is not really a museam, but rather an old house of Venetian nobility. The house has been kept (almost) in its original state, and that makes it interesting to visit.
