Not much from my side, because I didn't swim here.It is your classic city beach, next to ALL hotels - crowded, plain, crowded, crowded and plain. Tons of people, umbrellas, screaming and so on. This is a place for those who came without car and have no money to rent a car or don't drive. So, only if you must.Complete Naxos is clean and everywhere is decent at the end, but I can't imagine someone flying thousands of kilometres and then sitting here.
very crowdy beach with seawater for babies and children : depth is so weak that it is very difficult to swim "normally" not to have a sun bath… for those who like… and taverna all around this quiet bay, again if you like to eat your feet in the mediterranean sea enjoy it…
The beach is beautiful fine, white sand and the water is so warm and shallow, its so safe for children. there are no rocks in the water and hence no sea urchins, unless you swim over to the peninsular. Some of the tavernas are right on the beach so you can eat and drink in the shade with sand between your toes. Further round the beach there are windsurfing schools. Simply beautiful.
Great sandy beach. Try to get there off season because I don't want to imagine all those crowds in summertime.
Marvelous long curving beach, which at this time of year is virtually empty - fantastic place to sit and enjoy nature. You may spot a few hardy locals taking a dip in the clear blue sheltered waters
Nice beach, very close from the port of Naxos! Highly recommended for families because the water is not see deep for the children!
Very beautiful beach in the Chora of Naxos. The water is not so deep in the first meters of the beach, so i think is the best place to visit a family with small children.....
St George beach isn't going to win any awards for best beach, but for convenience and it's close proximity to the town/port it really is very good.If you fancy a break from the more popular and aesthetically pleasing beaches of agios prokopios or agia anna then it is good for a nice, relaxing day that requires minimal effort to get to.The sea is calm and very shallow which makes it good for messing around in if that's your cup of tea. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to eat in.All in all it is a decent beach, mainly considering its location. There are much better beaches only a short(ish) bus ride away but for ease of access it is good.
Very safe beach especially for young ones. Fringed by bars & restaurants. Great place to have "early doors" drink in the setting sun.
For us, it was our most favorite beach. The water is gorgeous, perfect temperature, sandy, umbrella service and restaurants on the water.
The sand in this horseshoe shaped bay is golden and slopes gently into the calm sea. There is a good selection of bars and tavernas - all very friendly. Sun beds are mostly free in front of bars as long as you are customers.
This beach is very close to the town of Naxos. It is very clean. Lots of restaurants. Sunbathing chairs for rent at a good daily rate. When in the water one can wade out about 225 feet and water will not be over your head. Area is protected from the wind. There is topless sunbathers.
Lovely beach with shallow and quite sea to have a very relaxing holiday.Really enjoyed the atmosphere there.
The water was warm, not icy, and very clear. You can see the bottom and can wade out for at least 50 metres with much only to your knees or less. It is a great beach for kids and there are few waves.
If your looking for the classic dinner by the beach, with the water lapping away just a few feet away then this perfect. We had an outstanding meal at Nissaki restaurant on our first night.. Loving it so much we returned on our last. Highly recommend the caramelised onion tart.
