On the east side (cost) of Karpathos, the road to this beach is amazing at least as much as the beach it self! this beach has small private bay's but also larger public bays, shops, chairs, and facilities.
The scenery is very nice. The beach is full of people and the presence of several boats in the sea is not helping the situation. Try to arrive early in order to catch one of the sun umbrellas.
I've not been to all of the beaches there, but out of about 6-7 beaches we've visited, this one was the most lovely, not to mention the breathtaking view & landscape on the way to it... The water are between light-blue & turquoise and the sandy beach is at the end of a steep canyon. On the slopes & cliffs there are nice houses & small hotels/apartments with an amazing view on the bay. There's also a nice tavern on the beach, for having a drink or even a good lunch with the exquisite view & sea-breeze...
Turquoise clear color of the sea and small pebbles. This beach which should be visited. One of the most beautiful on the island!
We were at Kyra Panagia at the beginning of October and it was perfect. Very few people, beautiful sea colour, warm water, you can even get natural shade in the corners (go to the left corner - it's great for some nice photos). Up the hill, by the church, look down the cliff over the fence - you'll see the most gorgeous clear blue sea ever :)Come early because this beach gets in a shade around 5 pm.
This beach is famous. Go to any postcard-selling shop on the island and you'll spot it right away: a church with a red dome-shaped roof, a white beach plus clear water. We fell for it, too. Yes, the drive down here is beautiful, the water is clear. But the beach turned out to be extremely crowded and the pebbly beach was hot. So hot that sitting anywhere else than under the provided umbrellas is a big no-go. The kids couldn't play a lot, except in the water and turned to us for entertainment instead. On the plus side you can order drinks and food from one of the tavernas to be served on the beach - a nice touch. We ordered frozen lemon juice and coffee but had brought our own lunches. There are two minimarkets and a taverna nearby; we bought some Greek Yogurt for snacks. Due to its position on the east coast of Karpathos the beach is in the shade after 5pm. This beach was definitely a disappointment to all of us.
Nice beach with clean water !!! Available beds and umbrellas. it has many restaurants where you can go to eat or dring everything you want !!! easy access!!!
This is a great beach but in comparison with the other alternatives (for example, Apella and Ahata) it cannot really compare. It is a bit too much people, the wind is a bit too strong, and the fine sand makes the water less clear than in other places.
Kira Panagia Beach is surrounded by wooded steep slopes that makes a very impressive scenery. The beach is great and the water crystal-clear. There are beach lounges and umbrellas available, but you have to go quite early if you want to hire one! Else use your towel for free. There are also beach bars if you need water, coffee or a snack. (There is also a taverna but i didn't go so i cant help you out with that!)
Schöne Bucht in wildromantischer Lage.
Vista mozzafiato, pace e buon cibo!!
