The place is nice, as well as the atmosphere. It would have been nice to see monks around but I couldn't find any. There is a nice view on the island ans the monastery stands on the top of a small mountain. What I liked the most though was the small zoo in the garden areas, with a lot of beautiful birds, goats, deer, bunnies and other animals.During your stay in Lefkada you should definitely go check this place out.

Lovely Greek church, we took some breathtaking pictures and had a great time talking to local priests about the history and significance of the Monastery.

The monastery is situated up on a hill, offering a splendid view on Agios Ioannis Beach and Lefkada Town. When entering the garden, we enjoyed seeing a small zoo, with lots of lovely animals, birds and also small fish. The monastery is beautiful and very well kept; it was being renovated in mid-September. It also features a small interesting museum with ancient icons. The interior is a place for spirituality and prayer. Don’t miss it when you visit Lefkada!

monks live in this place, they also feed the poor everyday at 1 for free, loved the cyprus trees surroundings and atmosphere, even though i'm an atheist.

The Monastery is situated on a hill with great views of Lefkada town and the sea. The monastery is quite similar to others in Greece and was generally well laid out with some nice gardens and also a mini zoo. There is also a small museum with some interesting byzantine icons of the 18th century. We went on the 2nd September when it was quite cloudy but just the right temperature for site-seeing. Overall, worth a visit.

Very peaceful to walk around, lovely little church and the area where the monks live is gorgeous with a beautiful garden.

Beautiful monastery situated on road to Tsoukaladis from Lefkas Town. Climb the tower for spectacular views over Lefkas. Gardens are really lovely and there is an animal sanctuary and aviary.

This is the most evocative monastery we have been to in Greece. It's location above Lefkas, grounds, monastery buildings and church collectively produce a tranquil and calming setting. Within the church there is a profound feeling of spirituality and peace. Our hotel owner told us that the name means that whatever you wish for, will come to you. An absolute must visit.

A wonderful Monastery situated on a hill overlooking the turquoise sea with the sailing boats! A fantastic, unique monastery with an excellent architecture. The unique museum hosts some marvelous byzantine icons of the 18th century. Very beautiful gardens and a lovely zoo offers joy to all the family. Good idea for families with kids !!!!

Monastery of Faneromeni is a large building with a good church and a park around with animals and birds. It is possible to see the sea from the height of the hill. A very peaceful and sweet place to spend some moment of the day.

Very nice as are the majority of monasteries in Greece,it is very annoying tho,that the Greeks are in such a terrible financial mess and in these monasteries are Gold and Icons worth amazing amounts of money.We almost saw a greek naming day(christening).

You have to visit this; Despite the fact that is a monastery- the things inside-it are different ( you may see deers, bunnies, turtles, parrots, e.t.c.in the yard) and a very nice, old and iteresting pray-room.

I was so happy that i went there....inside of the monastery is so peacefull, full of colours, flowers, birds....and the view from that hill is......i have no words for that. You feel like you have everything you ever wanted when you are there....

It's a quiet place, easily accessible on the road from Lefkada to Agios Nikitas. It is worth just taking an hour to enter this very peaceful place and stroll around, maybe light a candle and meditate.They have a cute mini zoo, and breathtaking views of Lefkada and the sea.
