The boat tour is absolutely worth it and I recomend the one that includes the wreck. Spectacular half day activity that you'll wish would never end!!! The water colors are absolutely amazing!!!!

Have you ever imagined what is like to swim under an island? That's what the Blue caves experience can be described in just a few words. The island look like is opening its small mouths to swallow the blue sea water and you too. Once you get in the cave, everything is different: the view, the temperature and your skin that turns into blue. You're in a cartoon now, you're a blue smurf!

I'll be honest, I didn't know about the caves before we came here but this was well worth the visit. If you can get the tour that does the caves and then goes on to Smugglers Cove then even better. It really is quite spectacular.

We had a day on Zakynthos from an Oceania cruise and wanted to see the Blue Caves. We rented a car and drove (30 kms) up to Aghios Nicholaos (St Nicholas) harbour. Captain Christos's zodiac style boat departs regularly to take passengers for the short trip up to and into the caves; it's a great value / no frills experience which includes the opportunity to swim in the amazing blue water. Because this cruise departs from the habour rather than down the relatively steep track from the windmill or a similar cruise with the Potamitis Brothers. Captain Christos and his American wife went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. They also recommended Orizontes restaurant (on the hill above the harbor) for lunch afterwards. We had a magical time and are so pleased we did this.

Unfortunately, because of the limited access to get to many of Zakynthos' beautiful sights on your own, you must rely on tour operators a lot of the time. It's not so bad aside from not being able to dictate your own time-frame at your own leisure.Nevertheless, you must ensure you get to the Blue Caves and have a swim. It is unbelievably stunning, the water is fresh, clear and unlike anything else in the world. Words cannot do it justice.

Are all kind of caves in Zakynthos, all around the island, are big caves and small caves, the bouats, bigs or smalls are going inside them and is a wonderful sensation... Zakytnhos is magic ...

Me and my husband visited Zakynthos in last august,2014 for two days. The first day, we took a trip to blue caves and Shipwreck with Cruisemar and their boat name was "Christina". It was a very beautiful boat, neither big nor small. So The trip to Shipwreck was very pleasant , because we were just 28 persons on the boat and the staffs were also very helpful , but with that trip the boat wasn't enough small to go inside of the caves, So next day we took another trip only to go to Blue caves with small boat. it was heart-breathing blue inside the blue caves. I could feel the silence of those caves. It is beautiful from outside but in inside its just wow..And i think it was a very good decision to take a small boat and go there again. It is a must must go to visit.

If you are looking for a great way to see the two main attractions in Zakynthos, take a drive to the north tip of the island toward the lighthouse in Skinari. The road itself is beautiful and when you get to the end you will have the option of taking a boat tour with the Potamitis Brothers to see the blue caves and shipwreck beach. The service is great, safe and always with a smile. They know what you want to see, and how you want to see it, including the right photo opps, and they give it to you. The price is right and there is no pressure of time in either attraction.Highly recommended.

beautiful caves along the coast in zante. the caves are shallow and the suns reflection makes them appear blue. small boats can sail through some of them. we were on a bigger boat so were only able to swim off the boat onto some of the caves.

We were recommended to use Potamis trips to visit the blue caves. After driving to Skinari we paid 7.50 euros each for the blue cave trip. It was not recommended to pay the extra that day by Vaso for the shipwreck as the sea was too rough. We really enjoyed the trip which included a short time for anyone who wanted to swim in the water in the cave. Glad that saw the caves this time as it was something that we missed on our first visit to zakynthos many years ago.

The Blue Caves are not to be missed when in Zante! My partner and I booked with Captain Spiros at Levante Speedboat Excursions. The speedboat was great as it could get right into the caves, so I would definitely recommend booking this trip on a small boat to get up close!
