rafina port

While going on a trip to Andros I went to the port of Rafina by KTEL bus from Athens. There are ferries going to Andros, Mykonos, Tinos and few other islands but I can't remember which. Many restaurants and food places around the port.

Rafina is our short escape from home on weekends. The nice port gives the recreative feeling of vacations and helps relaxation, just half hour drive from the crowded Athens city. Αlongside the portmouth there is a long pedestrian boardwalk by the sea and after the rocky brakewater a sandy beach extends for about 500meters. On the coast road, just over the port, stands the nice Hoter Avra (means breeze) where a coffe is a must! Hungry visitors have an even better choise: fresh fish at the little tavernas near the port gate! Any time we visit Rafina either with friends or family we have the feeling of relaxing on an aegean island, so far from daily life and stress!! I think it's an ideal place for tourists who want to combine a visit to Athens, Marathon, Plataiai, with seaside vacations!
