Yabanaki beach resort is well organised and with quite good facilities. You pay to get into the resort ( €6 per person at weekends and €5 per person during the week). You can then opt to turn left for the white umbrellas at €10 per pair of loungers with umbrella or right for the black umbrellas at €20 per pair of loungers with umbrella). So, at the weekend two of you will pay €22 or €32. If you are going for the cheaper option then you may struggle to find a lounger later in the day when it is busy. The loungers in that section are plastic and the area is much busier. The more expensive black umbrellas are wooden and come with mattresses. One advantage of this section is that you can book in advance, which means you don't have to scrabble around for a lounger, especially if there are a few of you and you want to sit together. There are plenty of efficient staff here walking around to take your drink order and it is nice to be able to drink your coffee out of a proper cup or your frappe out of a nice plastic one. There's a bar menu too and again the food is well presented. Prices are fairly much what you would expect to pay in a moderate cafe - not excessive, but no bargain either. A toasted sandwich was €4.50. Coffee comes with a complimentary bottle of water.Of course, everyone swims in the same sea and very nice it is too. It's sandy at the shore line and in the bay. Also the water does not get too deep straight away so it's a good place for children and families. The sea gets a little rougher later in the afternoon and becomes less clear but it is still fine to swim in. If you are on one of the loungers at the front between 4 and 5pm then you will probably need to move it back as the tide comes a little way up the beach. The deck restaurant has a nice view and is light and spacious. It's moderately expensive and the food is so-so; burgers at €13 were far from a bargain and it would be easy to eat here and run up a bill of €30 per head and wonder how it happened - 6 of us did just that. Remember, it's a restaurant and not a taverna.Given the way the costs add up, if you are coming here then it makes sense to make a day of it. In the morning it is quite peaceful. From mid afternoon onwards this section of beach gets noisier - there is a DJ playing loud music more suited to a nightclub. Which is why this venue gets 3 stars from me instead of 4. Trying to eat a civilised - and pricey - lunch while listening to a pounding beat is not my idea of fun. Sadly it meant that lying on the lounger became progressively less enjoyable too. Quite who was meant to be enjoying this music was unclear - the DJ and a handful of others, as far as we could tell. Probably not the families with young children.Facilities - toilets, changing - are not as good as they should be for a place that charges the prices this one does. There was one cubicle to change as far as I could see and the toilets were not kept clean. Facilities on the left - white umbrella - side are ok.
Well organised beach with umbrela sunbed café and also a restaurant taverna souvlaki Sea is very nice, clean And warmEAsy also with little child
It's a great beach with clear waters, many facilities and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Lounge non-invasive music at the cafes that you don't have to listen to if you don't want to.A bit pricey during weekends (6 euro per person + 10 euro for 2 sunbeds with an umbrella), but an overall good experience if you want the facilities of an organised beach.
Varkiza beach is a very spacious place that people of all ages can enjoy swimming, relaxing or doing sea sports like windsurfing, skiing and many more. The activity starts from early in the morning till late night at an affordable cost. There are snack bars where you can have light meals at a reasonable price. While there are bars that have very high price even for a coffee!
