This theme park truly made me feel like a kid again. It's smaller than eurodisney but it's just as good. The attractions are class and it's lots of fun to spend the day in.
A great little theme park, well worth visiting especially if you've got kids. There's a number of good rides and attractions, but my favorite was an African-themed one that blasts you at high speed around the park. Plenty of fast food options too.
I did't know where he takes me. When i saw it, i felt like child 10 year. Phantasialand is so great place for fun, i recommend black mamba :), great food, crazy hotels like labirynth. If u are in Germany, you have to go there and see it. You will definitely feel like child again and forget about everything that day ;)
Was quite small compared to other theme parks, despite this i throughly enjoyed myself. The whole theme park is perfectly themed. Super clean and lots of things to do, enjoy and eat! If you are passing by i suggest you go!
I enjoyed very much this park. Seams a little smaller than Disnbeyland, but we did not get bored :)Really great.A lot of Geramn things to eat, to have fun.You can even rent strollers.
It would be ludicrous to ignore this amazing theme park if you were in the area. There is a cheap entry fee for what the park offers and the whole experience of the day is great. Long queue times are the only downside, but it is something to be expected in a park as big as this! The division into different themes is an original idea, and one which really adds to the enjoyment factor. Much better than any of the English theme parks I've visited.
Perfect park for families for the littlest to the oldest. We went with the kids from three and the grandparents and we all had a beautiful weekend. There are shows to enjoy the older people while the kids are in the attractions. Combine it with a stay in Hotel Ling Bao or Matamba and it will we just delightful. Forsee at least two days for the park.
We purposely came to Germany to visit Phantasialand and of course Europa Park and Germany we love it very much, We love theme parks and been to many, Phantasialand was so good we went three days in a row, so many rides, there's a ride for everyone, fantastic shows which we enjoyed so much we went three times to each one too ! Food and restaurants everywhere that we loved ! sweets to die for ! Everyone was so nice and friendly, I would recommend it to everyone, it's so much fun, it's worth every cent ! We stayed close to the park which was really good. Bruhl is so nice great for shopping, go walking through the beautiful town. Cologne is a few Kms away which is really beautiful. We have booked to come back to phantasialand with the grandchildren next year in march can't wait !!
During the winter holidays me and my girlfriend went to Phantasialand in Germany for the weekend. We arrived Friday afternoon at the Ling Bao Hotel, a part of the park.A lovely lady gave us a warm and pleasant welcome. The staff of the hotel was friendly during our entire stay. As part of the arrangement we had, we could already visit the park for 2 hours and that was really amazing! Phantasia winter wonderland is entirely different than the normal phantasialand. Everywhere was snow, glühwein, Christmas feeling in general. Riding the attractions in the dark was phenomenal! When the park closed for the day we went back to our hotel and had a big cocktail in the top bar after we had a swim, in the dark and the snow!Imagine a warm outdoor pool with beautiful lights and snowflakes falling gently on the water..The next day, Saturday, we had a huge breakfast buffet in the hotel, I overate and felt awesome to start the day like that!At 11 am it was time to go to the park and we spend the entire day amusing ourselves, riding attractions and seeing lots of shows. You'd think that the shows are for kids only and kind of juvenile but they mostly weren't. Most shows were in German but are still fun to watch. As it was the Christmas season most shows involved around Christmas and it was swell. The ice-skating show was spectacular. If you want to visit an amusement park during the holidays for a reasonable price, we can highly recommend Phantasia Winter Wonderland!
We really enjoyed our day at Phantasialand in Cologne, Germany. It was set out as a winter wonderland and we found the rides lots of fun for all ages, the shows were very slick and professional, especially the ice skating show. The entry fee was reasonable, especially compared to some other fun parks, as was the food prices. It is a good day out for all.
The park has some good and bad, but overall good. There are some sections of the park that seem aged and rundown. On the other hand, the majority of the park is nice and well themed. They have a good collection of unique rides. For fans of Disney, the Great Movie Ride knockoff is particularly hilarious (in a good way). The park seems to have a higher than average cost of entry for a Europe theme park, but if you are an amusement park fan and driving through, consider making a stop.
Try to be there by 09.30 so will find parking easy. Check time table for all shows as they are different ours . The food is cheap and there are indoor places to eat. They do face painting for kids and the girls are very fast as the results are amazing..... fireplaces to warm up around the park are available....
Took our 5 and 7 year olds here for the day as part of a Christmassy weekend. The taxi cost around 40 euros from cologne centre (if the trams are cancelled like ours!). We only went to the areas of the park with rides for young children so can't comment on the thrill rides but they had a great time. Everything looks fairytale-like and magical. Loved the fire pits near the benches to warm up, and all the food and drink stalls with tables to stand at in the main square. Favourite rides were Maus-au-Chocolat (very long queue!!), swing chair ride with the water fountains, and the jumping frogs. Oh and the double-decker carousel. Tried to see 2 shows but turned up to one 10 mins before and other 15 mins before, and both were full. We didn't try any more after that. The children had a great time. The return journey was smooth, got on the free shuttle bus outside the main entrance, which took us to the Bruhl Mitte station. Buy your tickets at the machine which is on the tram. Takes you back into cologne.
the good:scenery is gorgeous, lots of shows.Attractions are diverseWe paid half pricethe bad:- long, long lines-shows are in german only, at least the ones we saw. If English is an option, please put this on your park maps- get there early. we reached the park a 20 past 11. Massive lines (200+ cars on each side of the motorway) to take the exit. They were lining up on the hard shoulder. We just drove up to the exit and then slid right in. Took 20 min till we were parked even though we had already left hundreds of cars behind us. the ugly:stood in line for lunch (15u15) for 30 minutes to get some gyros, when we are finally up front they say that there is non left (still the meat is ready to use, right behind them) and they make the giant queue go away. Food service is really unorganised in this park. And food servers are unfriendly staff, everyone else was fine.
We stayed at the Hotel Matamba (see separate review) on our visit to Phantasialand. We travelled from Cologne airport, took tram 18 to Bruehl Mitte and then took bus 985 to Berggeistsrasse. We visited the park during the Wintertraum season. The weather was very cold, so ensure you pack layers! Some of the rides in the park are incredibly dated (The Hollywood Ride for instance - you have to ride it, it's so bad, it's hilarious). However, the new rides are bang up to date and the new rides at Phantasialand (Chiapas and Maus au Chocolat) are excellent. They are currently building a new 'land' so I imagine that there are going to be more and more new rides. The park has a great atmosphere, it's very family friendly and the staff are also very friendly. The park is well laid out and the map is easy to understand. There are a number of shows which we watched, the Tiempo del Fuego was great, as was 'Der Magische Rose' make sure you get to both approximatly 20 minutes before they are due to start as they get incredibly busy! These two shows are both weather permitting as they are outside but they were great. The food and drink in the park is very reasonable (for park food) We had an ice cream in the Eis-Cafe Annie Himmelreich which was very good and the service was excellent. The park merchanise was reasonable and in keeping with each of the lands. We visited on a Tuesday, the park wasn't busy, we got an all of the rides and the longest queue was 10 minutes!!The park is well worth a visit if you're in Cologne or the surrounding area. I'd recommend staying in the Hotel Matamba as it is a stone's throw from the park entrance.
