Our son turned 13 recently and as the weather in August in Germany can be terribly unpredictable we decided to hold his birthday party on a Saturday afternoon at the Merkur Bowling in Monheim. This turned out to be a brilliant idea. The kids played for two complete hours and had a whale of a time. Inclusive in the birthday party price of under 70,00 Euro for 6 kids was a meal (pizza or chicken nuggets and chips) 2 hours of bowling, hire of the shoes, drinks, sweets, balloons and a souvenir plastic drinks bottle in the shape of a bowling pin. Great value in my opinion. Afterwards we could make use of the extensive facilities. The parents were able to follow the footie on Live Sky TV on a huge screen (+ dozens of TV monitors), there was an extensive bar, what seemed like hundreds of pool/snooker tables and the usual collection of air hockey machines etc. etc. Brilliant. Thoroughly recommended. We'll be back!
