What glorious views and freshness you receive by coming to this mountain castle. Some amazing sites to see as you walk around the grounds. My dad use to live around this area so he took me here recently to bring back some old memories.Very pleasant indeed...

A place which you can visit multiple times. Wonderful panoramic views, a glimpse into the history of the region and great walking opportunities.

Travelled with two pre-teens; perfect castle to visit. No crowds, not expensive. Just enough to keep two tweens interested without getting bored. Perhaps not as little-kid friendly...but the day we visited, there was also a local summer camp group visiting with what looked to be 8-10 year olds and they were also having fun.

This is a beautiful old castle and the location -in the middle of the hills- is very pleasant and relaxing. It felt like we were walking on a film set for a movie that took place in the Middle Ages.We were also surprised about the little museum inside the castle: it tells the history of the area back in Medieval Times and might be interesting for (older) children as well: there is an exciting collection of medieval armour, axes, swords and old maps.Back outside, there a few nice bars and restaurants, overlooking the hills.

I went here on a recent weekend visit to Germany. The place wasn't too busy as we arrived at about 2pm. It did get much busier afterwards though. There are lots of shops to browse both inside and out, from the really expensive to the knick knack type place. The inside is beautiful- the walls are painted intricately and full of little stalls.Outside there are lots of places to get Gluwein and traditional German dishes such as currywurst. One of the highlights was the cable car down the hill where we met Father Christmas :-)It's a great day out and very 'German'.

Was my first time visiting a castle and i really liked it. Everything inside is very interesting and the best part is the ride up the hill and the view. Loved it!

Super interesting, and the chairlift was an added bonus. Didn't have time inside as we arrived late in the day. But really enjoyed our wander around. Some shops, and places to eat. Park on the lower grounds to take the lift up, and watch out for the goats on the way up!!

Lots of fun, park by the ground station for the chairlift and catch a ride up the steep hill to the top where the castle towers over the town. Tour of the castle is interesting. There are several beautiful cafes around the castle, worth a visit. There is a path if you want to walk up to the castle

Whenever a new visitor comes to vitis us in Solingen, I will give them a tour to Schloss Burg. Originally built in 1120, it has a vast museum inside which is displaying the armor, the tools and all the living accessories of the people at that time (the aristocrats only). It also gives you a lot of history from the larger area and how the aristocratic families were interconnected. Its good for a photo session to post pictures on the net or tak them back home for a lasting memory of nthe visit. The visit will take for about two hours, whereas the entrance fee is arounf 7US$ for adults and ~20US$ for a family ticket.

This is a lovely old castle to explore. Take the chairlift up and go for a nice walk down Plenty of cafés to chose from. Reasonably priced

I went there again to bring back memories of my youth. The castle is in the middle of the Bergisches Land. Everything is well kept and very clean. It takes at least 2-3 hours to visit the inside. There is so much to see. So many rooms and most interesting the armory on display. The view ist just amazing. Looking down to the village is just brilliant. There are some good restaurants too. If you like cakes, that is the place to be.

Easy to access by local bus, The Castle offers great views as well as several eateries both on site as well as the village below.

Didn't get to go inside the museum and castle but having the ability to walk the grounds was lovely. Views are amazing, displays were brilliant and was a whole good few hours here.
