Very big aquarium. You need two, three hours to get though. It also has some insects and snakes and monkeys and even some penguins. The park in front is also beautiful. Perfect for eating some snack and resting by the water after long walk in the aquarium. I will for sure go again, after the renovation.
Taking full advantage of our bargain all-day travelcard (EUR 9.5 for two adults) we took the tram away from the city centre to the Nordpark stop to see the Aquazoo. Unfortunately when we got there it became very clear that the whole place was in the middle of a major refurbishment and closed until Spring 2015.Still the zoo is contained within a lovely park area which we had a walk around admiring the beautiful water features, large expansive lawns and a Japanese garden so all in all not a wasted trip, just different to what we expected!
Filled with wide variety of fishes and some reptiles and sharks too this was a different experience and one you got to see if you love seeing fishes swimming around in beautiful aquariums. The snake collection was good to although not many snakes were there. Small and lovely place.
I went there today (31/5/2014) and it was closed for renovation. Acording to the signs, it will only open again in the spring of 2015. However, the park arround it was worth the visit, so I did not feel like it was a waste of time.
I highly recommend this place if you like fish and snakes. I know this place for many years and I can not understand some of the bad ratings. I never have seen this place dirty at all. Just go there and judge by yourself. Great value for money.
We visited the aquarium, it was an unforgettable experience!!! We saw terrific, rare fish like pirancha, sharks!!! We walked in an artificial rain-forest, right above a crocodile pond!! I mean, it was really a worthwile visits!! It was a kind of excursion tha makes you richer and happier!!!
Very interesting place for kids and adults as well. The plenty of different animals and fish all around. I've been there in October and I was told that they were going to reconstruct the building and a half of the exhibits are in neighborhood aquariums. But nevertheless their collection of marine inhabitants impresses. Most of all I loved the small penguins, very cute and smart ))) When a man fed them, they stood in a row and very politely took their piece of fish from man's hands. If you have time, visit Aquazoo.
Highly recommended if you like fish! This is an amazing place with so many aquariums and every fish you can think of. You just wander from one room into another and another. All the written information is in German, but as the fish are all there in front of you it wasn't a big problem.Outside is the lovely Nord park, also well worth a visit - and it is free!
Loved it, lots to look at. Entry was cheap. 14 euros on a family ticket. Had a coffee shop. A perfect day out.
Beautiful is how I describe this. It was simply stunning.i recommend this to all especially families with little kids. Dusseldorf doesn't have many attractions for kids so this must be one of the very few.visit this if you can as it is stunning. The staff were great and it wasn't too pricey. Outside the aqua zoo there are gardens where you could sit with the kids or just enjoy a stroll.
