Nice building but under construction. The Rathaus is one of other nice medieval buildings in the center.

The first town hall building was completed at the same spot. In 1454 Count Ludwig von Württemberg gave the permit to have the Calwer Town Hall built,it had the function of a market Hall. Many structural changes to the Town Hall were reported during the 19th century. 1929 the 3 prominent figures have been placed on the facade. The coat of arms at the Town Hall of Calw represents the history of territorial allied Calws: top left the coat of arms of the counts of Calw, right above the coat of arms of the Dukes of Würtemberg 1495-1705, bottom left the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Württemberg 1817-1918, bottom right the in 1954 introduced coat of arms of Baden Württemberg

Das alte Rathaus von calw am Marktplatz wird bestimmt bald zum schandfleck des Ortes, wenn es nicht saniert wird. Die Stadtverwaltung ist jetzt woanders untergebracht und die Fassade im Erdgeschoss ist mit Plakaten zugeklebt. Schade, denn das Gebäude ist an und für sich sehr schön.
