Its interior is even spartanian scarse decorated, and as the church is kept as it was there is no electricity (makes it difficult to take pix) but as it is also without any heating system it is on such a hot day in July a welcome natural "airconditioning"... Even before the construction of the mighty monastery complex on the opposite bank of the river Nagold, from around 830 onwards, Benedictine monks were working in Hirsau.The Aurelius Church, today the Catholic parish church, is the oldest building of the Hirsau Monastery Complex and goes back to 1070. It was renovated with great care and decorated with artistic sensitivity by the renowned sculptor Otto Herbert Hajek. Next to the chuch is the "monastery" museum.

Une toute petite eglise très sombre. Bien qu´etant Athee je n´hesite pas à visiter les eglises pour leur architecture. La Ste Aureliuskirche m´a incitée au recueillement..>> !!
