You can spend your time in the museum or watching 3D movies. Unfortunately the cine-projector's picture is quaking and makes your eyes tired in a short time.

My 4 yrs old daughter love the first floor A sooooo much , she watched all the scientific experiences, although she didnt understand much now, but they will be of gr8 help some dayIts an amazing place , funny and amusing for a baby till 5 or 6 yrs old, and very useful for older kids. But the only negative point is that there no english explanations, or french on each machine or experience. So I had to invent stories and explanationsWe spent around 4 hours, and they were great

Easy access from city centre by tram and set in relaxing parkland ideal for kids to expend their excess energy

We stopped in on a whim and had a blast. One of the better science museums we have been to and our new favorite in Europe. It is huge and floor after floor of hands on activities for the family. Pretty much everything you see can be touched and worked with. The printing press and the huge tri-wheel that you walk in to lift large stones were both big hits with my family. You get to use both of them. Take the kids and have a great time. Only drawback is that all of the signage is in German, which is unusual for a museum in a major European City. Thankfully, there are Techno Coaches everywhere and they are just waiting to help you.

Great museum in general, one of the best things to do when the weather is bad. We visited on a Sunday morning with 2 families (5 kids ranging from 3 to 11 years). For the kids there was plenty of space and opportunity to explore, play and even run. For the adults there was a lot to learn and experiment as well. Staff explanation in German was good, but at times uninspired.

Like most have already written, this is a great place for kids of all ages to explore. Ticket price is only 12 euro for a family but experience would have been greatly enhanced if they offered audio guides in english. We passed at eating at the cafe, seemed pricey for what was offered but there is a McD's nearby.

The technoseum in Mannheim is a top notch museum. We are impressed every time we go with how well maintained and clean all the exhibits are; how much there is there (level after level of hands on exhibits as well as displays), and how reasonably priced it is. It is a great place for locals to go, and also for travelers if the weather does not cooperate with being out of doors, or you have kids who need something more interactive to break up all those castle tours. The museum is laid out to be visited spiraling down from the top. It is easy to get caught up in the great hands on exhibits up top and wear out long before you get to the equally great ones further down. If you live locally, it is nice to come back for future visits and hit one or two levels on any given day. If you are only spending a day, and find that you have to wait a bit at most of the upstairs items, try dropping down a level or two, where there are very rarely lines there than in the last hour of the day. There is a small snack area on the second ramp down with vending machines and tables for your own sack lunches. Further down, near the Eisbahn train, is a self service snack bar selling sodas, beer, wine, coffee, ice creams, pretzels and wurst. Visitors and ex-pats should be aware that nearly all the signs are in German, but many of the employees are great at explaining the exhibits in English if you are confused. This museum is at least as nice, and possibly a little nicer, than the Speyer and Sensheim Technik museums for a much lower cost. Family rates are only 12 Euro and parking is free.

The only thing I don't like about this is that I can't stop and read things because my kids constantly get lost if I do. Take my advice, and take another adult with you if you go. I'm tempted just to go when they are in school, but then they wouldn't have the chance to learn something (and have fun in the process).

The museum is easy to find and it has plenty of free parking. It's a perfect place to go with older kids (I think 6 and up would do much better than my preschoolers). We payed 12 Euro for the family ticket. You start at the top level "A" with some hands-on experiments. There are quite a few "assistants" throughout the entire museum that can help you at certain stations. I personally found it a bit annoying that they were following us around making sure we weren't touching anything we weren't supposed to. The museum set up is very nice and easy to follow. It looked like there were bathrooms on almost every floor. You finish at the bottom floor which has more "hands on" experiments for kids. Very nice museum, but like the previous reviewer said, it has ZERO information in English (or any other language besides German for that matter).

Was here in April 2012. There's only 1 setback here. No English map / brochure / labels / any written explaination. I'll have to start with this because otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. It feels rather incomplete for someone who knows nothing about German language like me.The cashier at the ticket counter was polite but can hardly speak any English. I made my way and realised that they were nicely separated into sections and different floors. The science experiment section was fun especially for children. There are people stationed around the place if you need to ask a question and they can speak English. There's a cafe inside if you need a bite. The variety of what one can see is good, from autos, sewing machines to plastic extruders. This place is just a short walking distance from Luisenpark.

hundreds of experiments for kids ready to do in a nice and well explained setting

Naseweise

Sistemas interactivos. Suele visitarse especialmente con ninos.
