I love the penguins and polar bears! It was really exotic for me and I strongly recommend it! Even with the family, it was a nice day out!

It´s a quite big zoo. Nice to walk there and see some animals and flowers. I recommanded it!especially with children.

The zoo is quite large with lake and beautiful flowers. The place where they have animals are all quite clean. You can see the animals very close to you. Some parts of the zoo you can also feed and interact with the animals. This zoo is one of the best zoos I've ever visited.

Just over the road from the rail station is the zoo and was far bigger than we thought so spent longer than anticipated. They had a good selection of animals and we were passing when the polar bears were being fed and there is an observation window looking into the water and it was a delight to see a polar bear swimming around under the water.

Nice spot for a stop with children. Not too big, 1 hour recommended, nice souvenir shop, easy to walk and to find seat

I though it was nice to be small where it can turn into a 2-hour activity for kids. There is a small play ground, cafe, and boat ride (relaxing but expensive). What was particularly nice is the section where kids are allowed to touch young sheep and goats.

Simply a must if you are visiting Karlsruhe, mainly during spring. Beautifull gardens, nice structure for all ages and calm.

Spent esrl afternoon on a sunny afternoon. Polar Bears. Elephants. Penguins. Birds etc. With pond and boots. Cafes outside sesting..

This zoo is great!A big park that you can enjoy. Some animals are free, and you can interact with them. Near of main train station.

I was expecting this zoo to be tiny based on the other reviews, but it actually takes hours to get around! Very reasonablypriced with children under 6 free. Great selection of animals with only a couple of empty cages. We got to see the penguins being fed and you can feed the carp and the farm animals for 20c. We took a boat trip, again very reasonably priced and cut the journey. Appealed to children from 3-12, with extras like the petting zoo and playground going down very well. A lovely day out.

Nice gardens and easy lay out to follow. Easy stroller paths and child friendly atmosphere. Many of the cages were empty or under construction.

I've been to Karlsruhe many times and always enjoy going to walk through the zoo. It's not a big place, but it's wonderful for a relaxing stroll. The animal collection is relatively small, but there are other attractions - a rose garden, a fragrance garden, a small lake with some boats that run a circuit of the lake on an underwater track, the "Seebuehne" (lakeside stage where concerts are presented), sculptures scattered around the grounds, and some cafes. There are many places to sit in the shade and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a great place for families with small children.

We really enjoyed this zoo. It is very stroller friendly and basically a big circle to walk around. The animals were out and active, the only one we couldn't catch a glimpse of was the snow leopard and he might not have even been there at the moment. The only thing I would change for next time is that we would probably eat lunch before we went - the food selection left something to be desired. We will definitely visit there again in the future, the gondoletta ride is a must for next time!

This was an enjoyable afternoon trip. It's fairly small, but there are plenty of quiet places to sit and enjoy a picnic. I believe this is the new zoo that was built after the original one burned (sad story). I didn't take the boat ride, but it looked delightful. P.S. I was actually there in June of 2012, but this is not a choice in the drop-down menu).
