广场很小，正中央是鎏金的圣母子像喷泉，三三两两的游人在拍照，然后会从这里登上城堡。这里还是前往王座山缆车线路的起点。

这是位于海德堡旧城区、城堡脚下的小广场。中心有几位天使抬着的圣母塑像，圣母抱着孩子，孩子拿着长枪打败蛇。据说蛇代表基督教，所以塑像象征着反宗教改革。从这儿能清楚地看到城堡。

A great place for shopping for souvenirs and enjoying old architecture. Small cafes with outside tables are a good place to let your hair down and enjoy the atmosphere.

Maybe during Christmas this place is busy. Today it only had a statue/fountain and a cafe, along with several tourists going to the funicular.

I'm not sure what the attraction is.The square is busy, filled with tourists and not much else. Perhaps the place hums when an event is taking place. We just didn't see it!

Be sure to have a beer and try the wurst and potato salad. Bathroom is available on the second floor of the info center

Me and my wife passed this poin many times in our walks through Heidelberg, although most of the time there were excursions that didn't allow us to fully apreciate, on 2 ocasions we managed to take pictures of the statue and plaza surroundings. The first was at noon and the statue lightnes up with the sun's light in a very beautiful way, and the second was during a drizzle of rain that left the plaza and the statue much more somber but no less beautiful. It is no doubt a famous meeting point for groups.

This cute market full of charm and German traditions, handcrafts, food, hot wine, hot chocolate, the pastries. If you like Christmas traditions visit one of this markets in Germany. You will never forget the experience.

I visited Heidelberg in December so Christmas market is there! It's nice to see the Germans selling stuff. Hot wine is always the popular item in all Christmas markets including the one in Kornmarkt.

It was close in day one we arrived in Heidelberg, since it was preparing for Christmas Market. And Day two we arrived, Wow…shining everywhere and so beautiful, we tasted our first Hot Red Wine in here and collected the mug! Haha! Yes! Actually we could give the mug back to the shop however as a tourist , for sure I will keep it!

It was a nice place but not very different to the rest of the old town...the whole ambiance of this place was just delightful ....heidelberg is a place where u have fun but in a relaxing environment.

Walked through here many times during our four days in Heidelberg. Found our favourite cafe/bakery here, Cafe Gundel. Most delicious pastries we found anywhere in Germany! Had brunch one morning on the Cafe Gundel patio (quiche & salad), which offers a view of the markt, as well as Schloss looming over the Altstadt from high up on the hill.

Like the Market Square, the Corn Market is a wonderful place to idle the hours away on a sunny morning with a coffee (or even something stronger if you are so inclined).

In the center of the Kornmarkt is a statue of a golden Madonna at the center. You can view the Modanna and in the background it the castle. The Kornmarkt is often the site of special events like political rallies and celebrations. This particular weekend there was an event celebrating German-American friendship. Accordingly, there was a Texas barbecue tent up and people waiting in line to sample the exotic dishes. There was also a jumping castle for the children.
