海德堡是一座令人难忘的城市,在老城区漫步是细细欣赏和回味的最佳方式。教堂、老桥、小巷、大学共同营造出愉快的氛围,我们非常喜欢!
The old quarter is simply beautiful and so well-preserved, full of coffee shops and restaurants to sit and have a beer or two, enjoying some tasty food. The outdoor cafes are highly recommended during the summer months but the extensive Christmas market should not be missed either. Just make sure to put on your walking shoes because you will not want to miss a thing.
This place is so authentic in its charm you'd think it's been preserved as a museum. We took a walk in the morning and were stunned by castle, roads, shops, church, everything. An absolute must!
The Old Quarter, on the south bank of the Neckar, is long and narrow. It is dominated by the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, 80 metres above the Neckar on the steep wooded slopes of the Königstuhl (King's chair or throne) hill. Its a pedestrian free zone and you will surrounded by old Baroque style architecture. Quant little shops selling knick-knacks and souvenirs, dainty cafes with pastries and sweet meats on display which are absolutely tempting. When we visited this place, there was a mild drizzle in the early morning and it was absolutely mesmerizing! Highly Recommended! Not to be missed! :)
Just been there, by chance, during Christmas time; I feel it is the right moment to do it.The old town of Heidelberg extends for approx 1 Km on the east side of the town, it is almost fully pedestrian and beside the classic and modern shops there are taverns bierhauses and restaurants, plus outdoor shops for Christmas time selling any kind of Christmas-German-food related type of thing...It's a good place to stop by, visit the castle and the Neckar riverside during the day, and the old town during evening with a good beer and traditional food.
The architecture is wonderful, the bridge with guard towers is a fun place to visit, and the castle looks over it all from up the hill. Just a great setting to experience.
We decided to visit Heidelberg on a whim as we were looking for a thee four day family break.Heidelberg is a lovely University Town by the river Neckar at the edge of the Black Forest. The old quarter of the city is small enough to be visited on foot but at the same time it has plenty to offer from old impressive buildings, the Old Bridge and of course the impressive Castle with great views. The university, the oldest in Germany is worth a look together with museums etc.Plenty of quaint coffee/cake shops to have a break and some small special shops including a fantastic Christmas shop called Kathe Wohlfahrt which is packed with everything you could possibly imagine a Xmas shop should have. I bet you would want to buy everything on sight.A lovely old town to spend 2 or 3 days and only just about an hour from Frankfurt airport and nicely placed for you to visit nearby places close by like Baden Baden, the Black Forest and even beyond. Also the people are friendly and eager to help you.
It is a nice charming quarter. That is my favourite type of city. Spot some amazing architecture and really interesting old workshops. You will enjoy this.
The old quarter is full of architectural delights, and beautiful cobbled streets, it is really relaxing, and well worth a visit for a quiet beer or a coffee - It was quite busy.
Centuries of old and great buildings in a compaq space. We had pleasure to walk around, discover each street, architecture, restaurants... taking photos. If you can, go during the week, because of it's popularity the weekends are over crowded.
This was an excellent place to visit. It was large and full of all kinds of shops and restaurants. The street was wide so there was plenty of room to walk even though it was crowded. There is a nice square with seating. Of course there were souvenir shops and bakeries. I would like to go back and spend more time.
so peaceful place. I really enjoyed this nice atmosphere and great experience. I would like to stay more and more here
Many century-old buildings, great restaurant and cafés and walking distance to most of the touristic points in the old city. Also you can buy souvenirs and beer in all the streets around this place.
As Americans, we are always awe-struck gazing at centuries--old buildings. The Old Quarter doesn't disappoint, especially during the holiday season! We enjoyed strolling through the booths of the Christmas Market while drinking hot, mulled wine. The bratwurst was excellent, too.
... and browsing shops or just stopping in a cafe for 'cafe und kuchen' (coffee and cake) and people watching!
