st. dionysius

Built early13th century but the first mentioning dates back to 873/874, the Church is a protected monument, is dedicated to St. Dionysius, is located on a hill south of the city and serves since the construction of new parish church St. Theresa as a cemetery Chapel. The oldest part is the early 13th century late Romanesque Tower, built in quarry stone with cloverleaf valves and Rombisch roof (diamond shaped roof). 16th Century late Gothic nave and choir. The choir has a reticulated vaulting and the nave has a modern wooden coffre ceiling. The two-story wooden Gallery dates back inbetween 1520-1629 when the Church served temporarily as a Protestant Church. Baroque interior from mid 18th century: the high altar and the pulpit points out the return of Catholic domination. From 1987 to 1996 the Church was renovated inside and outside.
