An amazing time truffle hunting with Moreno! The views on the hike alone were worth the trip, then learning how to hunt for truffles was such a cool experience. Topping that off with a truffle-infused meal that I'll never forget and fun tours of local wineries to boot. This is the way to experience Italy. The Marche is my new favorite region!
I would like to recommend to everyone this amazing experience and I would definitely repeat it myself. I have always seen truffles like a delicious treat to have once in a while, but seeking and touching (and smelling, awww!) them in their natural environment was something so interesting. Everything has been possible thanks to Moreno, who is welcoming and professional, and his wonderful personality makes him not only the perfect guide, but someone very friendly and pleasant to spend time with. He organized a 3-days tour for me and my friends, not only about hiking and truffle-seeking, but also to discover small wineries in the vibrant Marche region, which are little and precious hidden gems, where he introduced us to wonderful, inspiring and authentic people committed to their passions. Moreno planned everything in details with his deep knowledge of the territory. We are really considering of coming back there!
Thanks a lot to Moreno organizing our exotic truffle hunting day. Young truffle dog Spina - just 4,5 years old, was like a shuttle. It didn't take much time, when he found a truffle. And then the next and next. There were some more surprises besides the hunting - white cows were wondering on the top and picnic with snacks and drinks were waiting for us. The weather was wonderful andeverything was great! Greetings to Giovanni, his wife Anna and Spina!
Truffle hunting with Mack, and the gang, along with the adorable kids and dogs was such a highlight of Umbria for all of us. All six of us agree that we would recommend it in a heart beat! Granny, the incredible pasta maker was such an inspiration to us. Francesca and her friend did an incredible job of preparing a superb feast fit for a king. I let Mack and Francesca know ahead of time that it was Duane's 60th birthday. Francesca, made him an incredible peach cake. I forgot the candles that I promised, so she used a pink tiara candle holder that I'm sure Polly, age two, enjoyed at her last birthday. It was a great laugh. The peaches were so beautiful when we were the three weeks ago. Everything about the meal and the day was perfect! We didn't even mind the rain. It's a little pricey, but Mack, might give you a group discount, if you bring a group like we did. Save your money and know that this will be the highlight of your trip to Italy. We can't say enough wonderful things about our Truffle hunting experience. Come to California and see us. I miss the little ones and you grownups too.Candace Jackson
We had an unforgettable experience. I booked a tour few months ago and the experience was so much better even than what I was expecting. It's like an adventure, something so deep in the italian culture that you feel lucky to have the chance to experience something like this.Moreno is a fantastic person, it made us feel special the all time.Thank you so much, we will come back againHighly recommended
My wedding couple was just super excited when I propose the Truffles hunting tour. They wanted something to chill out before their wedding day in Le Marche. Moreno, was at his best, on time, prepared and funny, he charmed us until the end of the tour, which finished whit an exquisite candle light dinner with vino and music! A memorable experience and a fantastic collaborator for Wedding Le Marche. Thank you again!
This is something you will never have a chance to do anywhere else in the world! Make it a must on your itinerary!
This was our first time in Italy! My friends and I wanted to do something different so we decided to spend some days in Le Marche… fortunately we booked a very special truffle hunting with Moreno Moretti, a really handsome and smart guy! Thanks to his great help we stayed in a lovely farmhouse surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Sibillini Mountains! The nature was amazing! After the incredible truffle hunting a chef cooked fresh home-made pasta for us with some of the truffles we had found in the morning. It was very yummy!I can definitely say this trip was the best one I have had in a long time! Thanks a lot, Moreno!
With nicola and his dogs nina and sofie. Nice experience, the rela stuff, not the touristtrap, inexperienced once in alba
We contacted Moreno Moretti, Le Marche Holiday by e-mail from the US and he arranged an excellent day tailor made to our group of 10. Our truffle hunter really did a great job showing us the science and the art in finding these tasty wonders. It had been raining, so his rubber boots looked like better footwear than what most of us showed up in. We had a tasting of truffle products at Acqualagna Tartufi, then back to our villa for a hands on cooking class and delectable lunch. Moreno was charming, fun, and we saw a side of Italy that we would not have seen any other way.
With the help of Trip Advisor I found Moreno. And never regretted! From the first time I contacted him, he showed really professional approach. He helped me to plan the whole trip and activities for all my big family with three kids. He managed to satisfy everybody’s interests. We had fantastic experience with quad bikes, truffle hunting, cooking class, wine tasting and just pleasant sightseeing.Special thanks also to Paolo – the owner of Agroturismo Ramuse where we stayed. We are missing his best breakfast in the world! He revealed to us some family secrets how to make jam and cooked wine. Just imagine that my kids who visited with us all the Europe for the first time in our live started to ask the second day we left when they will come back to Ramuse to meet Moreno and Paolo. Congratulations! Keep your business go this way!!!Elena
Extensive web searching for a chance to take part in a truffle hunt eventually led us to Le Marche and Moreno Moretti who offers various day trips to experience some of Le Marche’s local activities. We were staying a short distance away at his friend Paolo’s agriturismo, Ramuse, and our day began in Moreno’s home town of Comunanza, where we met up with him at the agreed time at a local bar run by one of his relatives. Not so prompt unfortunately was another group that was to be part of our tour, but we were able to enjoy a walk around the weekly market in Comunanza while waiting for them. We went in Moreno’s car which gave us a refreshing break from navigating, and we were able to sit back and enjoy the drive through the beautiful countryside, quite misty and mysterious in autumn, as we zipped through the hills and valleys, with the occasional village or crop of stone houses perched high on a hill. You’d certainly need to be a local to find your way around those narrow country roads. We arrived at the farmhouse belonging to Alberto who was waiting for us with his dog, Suza. He was wearing sensible knee-high boots, and we were a little anxious about our own footwear as Moreno had suggested trekking shoes were desirable. However, even though it had been raining for some days previously, and was still a bit drizzly, our normal walking shoes were adequate as we didn’t go into any rough terrain. We walked for about ten minutes up a track before entering a fenced property where Suza immediately went to work under the oak trees, encouraged with treats from Alberto. She was very excited by the smell of the truffles and became quite exhausted after her efforts. We didn’t get to do any digging ourselves but Suza managed to find five black truffles and one white, which were passed around so we could savour their distinctive aroma. Apparently the season had been bad because of a long period without rain, so it was a pleasant surprise to find the white one. After our walk in the crisp air, we were certainly ready for lunch, and Moreno led the convoy through the winding country roads to a delightful little medieval hill town where we were expected at a local restaurant. The truffles were taken away for cleaning and then presented on a plate for our approval. After starting with delicious antipasto platters, we then got to savour the wonderful taste of our truffles grated over pasta, and bread with local olive oil. Absolutely beautiful! Succulent slow-cooked lamb and pork followed, and of course an abundance of local wine.Unfortunately we had run out of time so we didn’t do the pasta making that is usually part of the day, and Moreno delivered us safely back to our car in Comunanza. A bonus was that Moreno had saved a truffle for us to take back to Ramuse, where Paolo incorporated it into our evening meal which we were able to share with the other guests. Our stay at Ramuse was also a highlight of our time in Le Marche. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and a wonderful opportunity to experience a little slice of life with real Italians in a part of Le Marche that has probably not changed for centuries.
Moreno was lovely and gave a couple of black truffles to take home anyway. We didn't find any on the farm but was interesting to see the process with the dogs and the beautiful scenery. We also did a wine tour with him (even though not much was open, he tried his best!) which was enjoyable. Nice to see a young guy with a lot of initiative and great tour ideas. I'd recommend, it's a fantastic region, probably better outside of Christmas when we went when things are pretty quiet.
Prior to our trip I found the information for truffle hunting via Trip Advisor. We had not been to Le Marche region previously so were looking for some unique things to do. Moreno was in contact very quickly with the info I was looking for and allowed us to arrange our activities very easily via email. He met us at the appointed time and we explored the area with him and he explained all about truffles, the seasons, the regulations, etc. We had a really fun time at the farm area watching the dog Franco find these truffles and we would have to get to the dog before he ate them (the dog was specially trained to find truffles so, of course, he loves truffles!) The entire area is beautiful and we went for a drive after to another beautiful hill town for an apertif and then on to our lunch which was wonderful! We were in Italy for 19 days and this lunch, which included our found truffles, was probably our best food of the trip - a family run locals restaurant. Moreno handled everything and is charming and fun to talk with - he was as interested in us as we were in all that he was doing (he does run many other activities so ask him or hire him to help you with your activities)! All in all, the four of us that got together with Moreno thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and this beautiful area in Italy. Do not hesitate to work with Moreno on your activities.
