Fantastic village hidden in the heart of Dolomites mountains. Direct at the Sella Ronda slopes. Ideal place when you plan to enjoy ski and good italian food at the evenings. There are hotels with spa facilities available in Arabba. So, if you need to take rest and enjoy ski holidays, not in a place filled with lots of "party animals", then go to Arabba and you will never regret.
We booked a ski safari with Arabba Holidays which is part of Arabba Ski school. We can recommend this type of holiday if you are a keen skier rather than a apres skier .The service we received from Mario and Patsy (a Kiwi )was great and our guide/ instructor was faultless. The Dolomites is a ski area for skiers not players with more slopes than one could ski in a month.Highly recommended
We had a wonderful time and have booked again for next year. The report is small and caters for winter skiers and not much more. Few shops and no bars with happy hours so if you want to party after skiing this may not be the place for you. If you want to relax after a good days skiing its hard to beat.
Don't come to Arabba for apres ski, drunken youth/Dutch/Germans. Do come here to enjoy the Italian way of skiiing and good food.
Arabba is small but has everything you need - hotels, restaurants, bank, post office, supermarket - and is a perfect place to base yourself to ski the wonderful Dolomiti area.
All the region is about walking. There is no way to get from one part of Arabba to another on your own skis. The mountains are high, but the slopes are not the best I've ever tried. Breuil Cervinia is much better prepared, for example.
Situated in the middle of the Dolomiti Superski area there's loads of skiing to be had. Arabba is a very pretty village but quiet so not the place for those looking for lots of apres ski or shopping.
All round ski ing superb. Miles of wonderful runs and fab places to stop for a refreshment. Would definitely go again. Easy access to get around too. Very well sign posted.
Best choice of skis in Arabba and has stores in several locations. Main store is under the Portovescovo main lift station. Big choice of skis ranging from full race SL and GS skis to All Mountain skis and off piste specific.Very helpful staff and happy to change skis regularly. I did one run on one set, deciding I didn't like them and changed immediately; not a problem. Also has a store at the Campolongo pass, so very handy if you are staying in the Grifone, Boe or Cherz hotels.Great value, top staff.
Everything you need for a skiing break without a vast market place! Probably not good if you need lots of Apres ski. The skiing is so extensive and challenging that we didn't!
At the heart of the Sella Ronda and close to Marmolada in the Dolomiti Superski area. Make a skitrip every day to a different ski area.
Arabba shops only sell wine with a cork so don't forget your cork screw - we did !! On day 2 souvenir shop came to the rescue €3.95well spent.
Holiday arranged by a fantastic co.called Simply Dolomiti.I would thoroughly recommend this family run company based in Arabba to any one who has skied before. The ski hosting is great and the hosts have a very good local knowledge and have a knack of making everyone enjoy it.Having skied most of Europe I can't believe what a superb area Arraba is, there are areas for all abilities and links to area after area. Scenery is more striking than the Alps and some great WW1 history around the whole region. Restaurants on the slopes are cheap compared to France Switzerland and Austria and serve excellent food, some lively bars on the slopes can be found for great Après Ski. The village is small and does not have loads of après ski bars but....if you want to ski on great slopes and eat well this the area for you !
Arabba is a calm place, good town for skiing because of the location to Sella Ronda and marmolade glacier. Not much nightlife, best for families and people who enjoy nature.
Best place to start the sella ronda either way. Start early and avoid queues going up to Porta Vescovo going clockwise , the gondola can be busy during the day, going up to monte burz is ok any time going anticlockwise
