Another important and beautiful square of Verona. Piazza Signori positioned a short distance from the "Scaligers Arks" the famous Gothic tombs. The square is breathtaking scenery, it also surrounded by beautiful and ancient buildings, the view of the tower Lamberti is sublime. Undoubtedly recognize it by the statue of the famous Dante Alighieri, located right in the middle of it.
Old small square in the middle of Verona old town. Some cafes and stalls around. It's almost impossible to miss since it's very close to other attractions.
This lovely and historic piazza becomes even more special during the Christmas season when filled with holiday market stalls. The huge Christmas tree and decorations make December nights glow. The surrounding architecture is impressive but the size of the square is small enough to feel intimate.
Wonderful square with Dante's statue taking centre stageSurrounded by open air cafes - ideal place to chill and relax with a Spritz. We were serenaded by an Opera singer when we were there which was lovely
It is close to Piazza delle Erbe and almost part of the same area and is said to be the most distinguished and elegant place in Verona. I has cafes and on a sunny day it is lovely to sit and admire the stunning archigecture which includes a monument to Dante. You can also view the famous Porta Bombardiera which dates back to around 1680. Also in the background is the Palazzo degli Scaligeri which dates back to the 12 century.
The main area of Piazza Delle Erbe is very busy and this square is just a few steps away. It is quiet, with a couple of nice restaurants and monumental buildings, like the entrance to Torre Lamberti. If you are in Escher, just take a look at the buildings, courts and stairs - it will ring a bell.
It would be easy to wander through trying to get to Piazza Erbe and miss taking the time to check out this very beautiful square. Fabulous architecture and pretty little cafes and restaurants.
Next to the bigger piazza Erbe. But more quiet. Some nice buildings and restaurants and entrance to torre dei lamberti.
This piazza is metres away from Piazza Delle Erbe and should be allocated some time to enjoy the Palladio buildings, The Statue of Dante and The Torre Lamberti in an adjacent courtyard. It is quieter and in my opinion lacks the spirit and liveliness of Piazza Delle Erbe but still a must.
If you restricted by time and only can do few things, the reserve some time for this square. Strangely enough it is only a few yard from Piazza delle Erbe but barely had any tourists. Beautiful architecture, that reminded me a bit a Venice. Just loved it!
Take a right turn off Piazza Della Erbe and go under the Arco Della Costa where a huge bone said to be the rib of a whale has hung for centuries and you will discover Piazza dei Signori. Quieter than the nearby Erbe square, this elegant Piazza has massive buildings some dating from the 12th century such as the Palazzo del Commune( town hall) and an imposing tower Torre dei Lamberti still open at 7:30 pm for visits that sadly we did not have time to enter as we were attending the opera that evening.
And statue of Dante. Serene. But not a lot of activity so not a lot to say about it. Pastels away from other monuments and statues.
pizza is better at other places...... overpriced for the views i thinkplus the 'coperto' cover charge is high in the restuarants here
Piazza dei Signori is a wonderful square in the centre of verona, containing some beautiful architecture and often super small markets... When visiting Piazza die Signori make sure you take time to look up at the high walls and the detailed architectural features. Some excellent photo opportunities.
