A lovely piazza full of restaurants, coffee shops and shops. Beautiful buildings and architecture.Nice to sit outside for a spot of lunch with a Spritz and people watch.Would have like to have spent longer here, but was here just for one day visiting some of the other attractions.
T-shirts, caps, masks for sale!! But we were there on a day when a Medieval fair was taking place. Vendors were in period costumes, children could participate in grinding wheat, throwing balls at a jester, etc. it's a beautiful plaza regardless.
Take some time for a coffee and relax while people watching in this beautiful square. When we visited there was a local market place in the square and it was where we found the best fridge magnets and souvenirs.
A fabulous place for a coffee and a relax sit back and relax and take it all in look at the fabulous square and massive bell tower which is defo worth a visit on a sunny day cause the views are incredible some of the best in verona some great restaurants too there are some lovely little streets round here too
We had a room in Pallazo Maffei overlooking Piazza delle Erbe. The view from the balcony is unbelievable at any time of the day/night. I dont remember the name of the cafe just accross the entrance from Pallazo Maffei, but we had coffee 2-3 times a day. Just so you know, if you take your espresso while standing next to the bar, you will pay 1 euro, vs sitting down, I believe it was around 3 euros. So, you can sip your espresso at the bar and continue walking after that.
This is one of my favourite parts of the city. The buildings are amazing. There is a great atmosphere, due to the market, the crowds and the many cafes which line the square. You can sit outside and watch the world go by even in winter, thanks to the patio heaters!
I was here on a Sunday morning, along Via Mazzini from Piazza Bra getting here is very easy. I saw so many Italian cities, but this is one of the best ever.It is surrounded by historic buildings, ancient monuments and sensational. When I came that morning there was a market that took up the whole square, stood out among the many stalls of those fruits and vegetables, but also many souvenirs. Really a great experience.
Go upon the pedestrian street on the left from the Arena and turn up the side street towards the end and you come to plenty of market stalls selling the usual tourist fare. Each similar. To the end historic buildings and not far from Juliet's House.
Although the vendors are not exactly selling quality items, this small piazza is classic Italy. A great place to stroll and people watch.
When we decided to go to Verona we did no research at all, we were in the area, jumped on a local bus and an hour later we were in town. We got off the bus, made a note of where we were and off we went. We wandered into the square after following our noses and what a sight, fantastic, loved it. We just stood and soaked up the whole vibe of the place. Well worth a trip. We spent the day there and could've spent longer. Well worth a visit. We had a great day out
Verona's market square is beautiful and is not to be missed on a visit. The mix of art and architecture from different periods and styles adds to the charm.
A lovely square, quaint and traditional rather spoiled by market stalls run by non Italians flogging all the usual tat!Nice surroundings though and worth a visit.
Pretty square with many cafes and bars, good spot to enjoy a coffee in the morning and a great apetivo in the evening.Lively but not crowded its a great place to get a feel of Verona
This major piazza in the center of old Verona is surrounded by ancient buildings, some still with traces of frescoes. Still used as an open air market. One can almost feel an echo of Montague and Capulet footsteps. Extra special during Christmas holidays.
This piazza is surrounded by some very beautiful pallazzos and many side street cafe's to sit at and watch the world go by. There are also produce stands and souvenir stands as well as many shops around the square. Also, the famous Maffei restaurant is located at the end of this square, we gravitaed to the area every time we went out as it is nice and peaceful to walk through and sit there.
