来意大利布鲁内莱斯基穹顶,被如此伟大的建筑所吸引,设计如此的独特没有任何支撑,太壮观太不可思议了。很想知道当时的建筑师是如何打造而成的。

if you are fit - climb into the top of the cupola - it is worth the effort! :). The views are amazing if you do not suffer from vertigo

It's great to be up close for. A great view of the frescos, then there's the view over Firenze. Try to be early or late or out of season, the queues otherwise are extreme.

As the heading says, there are lots of tight spaces, crowds and lots of steps, but worth the views. While the outside view from the top of the dome is great and provides a 360* view, I was blown away by the view inside the dome from the internal balconies that circle it. Getting to see the decorated interior of the dome up close was unique, and for me the highlight.

Though inside the Duomo is sparse, here you can see the fresco inside the dome, and beautiful views of Florence.

Lots and lots of steps not recomended with those with any physical health problems. The view is most definatly worth the hike up the winding steps.

If you like great views and can make the climb (over 400 narrow stairs) do it! The views of Florence are fantastic.

You are going to be walking around Firenze to see the sights,so why not start with a workout. We visited near opening time and there was no line to visit the dome. Lots of climbing on spiral stairways, small steep staircases, across narrow ledges. You can really see how this building was constructed from the inside out. Quite amazing and worth 10 euro which includes Doumo, bell tower, museum. The cathedral is free. This is more interesting and has better views than the bell tower, so do this if you.have energy for one climb.

The title says it all! Work hard, pace yourself and the views are spectacular.Rather depressing is the amount of graffiti on the walls (particularly around the signs that say don't write on the walls) but getting so close to the Vasari frescoes is AMAZING.

Worth the long climb. Worth understanding a bit about the construction before you visit. Views are spectacular. We arrived as the doors opened. Would not like too many people in confined spaces.

Incredible views of the city are worth the climb! The closenes to Vasari's painting inside the dome is incredible.

First off, a disclaimer. I hate heights. But nevertheless the walk to the top of the cupola is well worth it.. you can see, in a way that is impossible to understand outside the Duomo, how the cupola and the dome were built. The wooden chain is clearly visible as you walk up the narrow circular stairs to the top, inside the dome. Unique. And when you reach the cupola, the view of Florence is the best possible. Even better than the views from Fiesole or San Miniato. Breathtaking. And if you don't like heights, trust me, you can hug the walls and it's OK. You will love the education & stay for the view.

We loved the dome from the inside. This was one of the most interesting things we saw in Florence. We used the audio guide (one audio guide with our own earphones that we shared) and it was great and very interesting. The only thing that bothered us a bit was all the people. This is not a climb someone that is claustrophobic should undertake. On the way to the top/going down there are some passages that are very narrow. These passages need to be shared by people going up and down, which makes it very squeezed at times. I'm not claustrophobic at all, but I felt like I was going to pass out a few times. Haha! The thing we enjoyed the most was definitely the fresco on the inside of the dome. Wow! There is so much to look at. We couldn't stop looking and we kept on seeing new things in the fresco. Just a few things we would recommend: take water, hire the audio guide, queue early (the dome opens at 09:00) but the queue can become quite long and be ready to come in close contact with someone you don't know (especially in the busy summer seasons). Make sure not to miss this one! It was great!!

we spent a couple of days in Florence and wee just blown away by this magnificent building. Everywhere you look there is something to see. We didn't go in or do the tour purely because of the queues and we were pushed for time. Definitely worth going to see it even from the outside.
