When you are in the neighbourhood, do not hesitate and pay this bottega a visit. The son will gladly guide you into the cellar, where you can taste three kinds of pecorino with some honey, two kinds of ham and home made Tuscan wine.Afterwards, you can buy whatever you want at very reasonable prices!In the very small shop upstairs you will find ANYTHING you might need. It really is amazing!

We discovered Bottega Pecchioli, the only store in Poggio alla Malva, when we were looking to buy some bottles of water - which were very cheap there! In fact, they have just about everything in this little store (the owners of the hotel we were staying at e.g. got the ingredients for breakfast there). The very friendly people invited us back for a (free) wine, ham and cheese tasting in their cellar. We went back on the last day of our holiday and we did not regret it: Paolo took the time to let us taste their wonderful Pecorino, ham and red wine, and we had a nice talk while we were tasting. We bought three kinds of Pecorino, a piece of ham, two bottles of wine, and a bottle of olive oil and we have been enjoying all of this ever since we returned home from Italy. We even wish we had bought more. We will definitely return here when we are in Tuscany again. Be sure to visit this wonderful store when you're in the neighbourhood!
