the beauty of the place , you should stop here winter or summer you can forget the commercial center close too ....
I have been to many many lakes but this is the most beautiful lake that I ever been! There is no other lake like this one. The color of the water is just unbelievable - you can't believe your own eyes. The Sella mountains adds to the dramatic background of this lake. It is one of the most popular spots and you will see large number of tourists there - and I can see why this is the "must see" place. The lake itself is not big at all - there are wooden walkway all around the lake, preventing access to the water and most of the people stay at the "balcony". There is trails from the lake which we took for a while but decided it was not that spectacular and the direction was confusing so we went back to the lake. There is a modern visitor center near by with large parking lot (fee), restaurant and shops. This is the "must see" - I don't think you can find more beautiful lake anywhere! ( If you do, please let me know.)
The lake itself is fascinating and so is the background-The Dolomiti Sella Ronda. It is really worth visiting. It can be reached by car,bus or on foot. There is a very good parking and a small but elegant comercial center.
Downside: there are more tourists than water. On top, the lake is located a a curvy mountain road. Most motor bikers dont care for the lake but use the curves surrounding it for their own pleasures. But: the lake itself is so beautiful. Go and imagine how it must have been a hundred years ago to arrive at the lake. Best in the morning at sunrise. I was the only one in the first minutes, the lake a perfect mirror.
This mountain lake is a true gem. The colors are incredible - a mix of green, turquoise and deep blue. The lake reflects the beautiful forest around it and the Catinaccio and Latemar mountains. A must see.
Driving from Nova Levante to Costalunga Pass, we could not resist stopping at the famous crystalline lake Carezza, although it was a cold morning for the season. After parking in the large carpark, which is on payment and secure, we walked through a short underground tunnel therefore avoiding crossing the busy road. You arrive out right near the lake. There is an excellent information and history panel facing the lake and it is easy to take pictures. We like our amazing pictures with the blue waters of the lake, green of the alpine conifers and the grey and white mountains in the background. There are a few shops selling souvenirs, hot drinks etc. as you exit the tunnel going back to the carpark.
Requiers a stop at this place when driving the Dolomittes, surly one view that will take the breath out of anyone ...truly beautifull nature. You can take a walk around the lake, not very fra to go , think about one hour.
We visited lake carezzo for a couple of hours. Parking was easy. A 2minute walk from car park and you will be looking at this beautiful lake. The colour of the water was so blue, the beautiful reflection from the trees around the lake. I could not stop taking photos. What a beautiful place to visit, I recommend to everyone not to miss this wonderful place.
Very beautiful small lake. Spent around 2 hours walking and relaxing around this lake while enjoying the magnificent mountain reflections on the lake. Adequate parking area and a very nice souvenier shop in this area. Recommend to visit this lake for great photos.
Very nice stop on the way to the dolomite area. spent an hour walking around the lake with the family. There are multiple stops along the lake. There are great views of the mountains around mirroring via the water. Great photo opportunities all over. The color schemes are beautiful.
It stude up our expectations! The parking is very conveniant (1€ per hour). We bought take away from the resturant and crosed the tunnel to the lake. The combination of the colors of the lake and the serouding views is spactacular. We spent great 2 hours with 2 kids including a picnic and a walk around the lake .
We have passed by the lake, when travelling to the Dolomites hills. Very nice special bluish colour of its water ! Parking paid ( 1 EUR/hour) but also possible at the side of the road ( for free) if you are lucky to get the space. Recommended, you will need not more, than 1 hour to see the lake and enjoy the views. Don´t miss it ,when you are near.
Just off side of road, easy walking access. In the fall water level was low yet still blueish green and clean.
