There is a great walk for all levels around Lake Molveno and you can also include the upper lake. The town of Molveno is a very charming town and the people are very friendly. A truly lovely area to visit, Irene
On a walking holiday based in Molveno we were taken around the lake on the first day to ease us in. It was spectacular, a simple to follow but constantly changing path with new vistas at every turn. Woods, lake and mountainside all the way. I had understood there were refreshments at some point but not when we were there, perhaps in the main season something pops up. So lovely was this walk that we did it again later in the week, on our own, and in different light and conditions, everything looked quite different and the wave strewn lake had become a shimmering mirror of its surroundings.
It's breathtaking! Take a stroll near the lake in one of the towns. We spent there two hours of amazing scenery and great views!
A mountain lake with a quiet village on its shore. The scenery is spectacular and the locals are friendly.
very hilly. Quiet designed for walking but not easy to circum navigate lake path mostly in woods and poor condition. Looks great for kids if weather good with boats, mini golf. tennis etc.
The lake is beautiful itself, the surrounding also. But most of all the area around it is very well organized, and it's a paradise for families, playgrounds for small kids, beautiful open pool, basket, volley, minigolf, plenty of activities, my kids just could not stop play and have fun! Water fountain, bar sitting places, a public toilet, everything we needed was there. And this place is close to some of the most exciting trekking places. And people comes down to the lake with paragliding, from the mountains around. Simply amazing!
I'm a kern nordic walker and found the walk around the lake excellent. Well indicated and very well kept.
We visited the lake (and town) as our first trip with our 2 dogs. The weather was perfect and the walk around the lake was breathtaking. Our dogs had several good swims and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed nature of the area. It was not crowded and we stayed in a lovely hotel. We will return again.
We did the 9km walk around the Lago and it was beautiful. The Hydro was spectacular, with thousands of gallons of water rushing into the lake every minute. The locals were getting ready for the season and are obviously very proud of their village, it's so clean and friendly,.
We went early May out of season . However lots of fabulous walks and plenty of cafés to stop at for drinks ,ice creams and food .i didn't like the fact that all ski lifts and cable cars closed . Not open till mid June . However I think it will be packed then . WE were able to walk around and not see a soul . Not warm enough to swim in lake but plenty warm enough to sun bathe
The area attracted us because we were looking for a relaxing location which would offer a variety of activities/ entertainment, when interests and abilities (e.g. hiking) of different age groups are met, well balanced holiday with a mix of lazy and active days in beautiful surroundings. And Molveno just offers all that. It is a lovely little town with a wide range of age groups visiting. A nice area to stay which offers so many beautiful walks (well signed). Day trips to Verona, Lake Garda, Bolzano (Bozen), Trento and many other places. Lots of activities for children. You won't be disappointed with Molveno. We absolutely loved it.
A lovely 12km walk around the outside of the lake with refreshnent breaks available at Molveno and about a 2km from the town. A good path, well signed, with only one steep section on the whole walk. Recommend taking a picnic
Staying at riva, the trip to molveno was around 45 mins by car. Molveno is more than just a lake. The town is very picturesque and is surrounded by the Dolomites. This is a must place to visit for a day trip, or I could happily stay for 2-3 nights if you fancy tranquility and excellent sights.
Loved the lake, loved the surroundings, loved the organization.I was there in June with my 5 years old dautgher, there is a mini club with very nice guys and they organize plenty of activities for kids. The swimming pool is beautiful and cheap.Playgrounds fantastic. What can I say I simply loved Molveno
being low season most of the lake facilities were closed for the winter but there are pedalos available and plenty for family and children to do in the park close to the hotel and lake.
