Is really lovely and sweet place. Very romantic for couples, and of course is lovely for shooping. We spend only one day in Bolzano and we cannot see a lot of this beautiful city. A lot of germanies and italian culture in one place. People are very friendly for strangers.

The restaurants, the people, the amazing little villages to visit. Take your time here, don't rush it! We've been back several times. Get out to the villages and the views. Some are breathtakingly beautiful with views over the Dolomites... agggghhh take me back please!!!

We wandered in awe around the market place setting up the Christmas market, and surrounding pedestrian only side rides, with beautiful lights & buildings.

Bozen is the bicycling centre of the area with over 45 kms. of dedicated pathways. Rent a bicycle and enjoy if you have not been on a bike for years! Take the gondolas up the mountains and stroll about. We also visited a castle with excellent frescoes. We took the bus, but there is a pedestrian pathway up to the castle. Bus service is frequent and the information center will provide all the information you could possible want in English. We allowed 3 days and could have used 4 days. Lots of places to eat in town. There was nothing we did not like about Bozen which is known as Bolzano in Italian. Although part of Italy the majority of the people have German is their first language.

I spent 4 days here in this city and found it very enjoyable with a pleasant city center, several historical churches, and a shopping district worth a stroll. There are 3 chairlifts (funivia/Seilbahn) just at the edge of the city which transport you to small villages which are worth a look. The Bozen/Bolzano pass gives you free access to most museums as well as all local transport (bus, train and chairlift)

We stopped in Bozen for a lunch break and found it to be a charming city. Much of the activity centered around Walther von der Vogelweide-Platz with its many cafes and restaurants. We visited the lovelycathedral, which is across the street from the Platz. We also walked around the old town, which is a pedestrian-only zone. Shopping arcades branch off many of the streets and are full of shops. There was a farmer's market beginning at Franziskanergasse that stretched along Via dei Francescani.

Good for shopaholics. A fantastic selection of shops hidden in long arcades.Lovely old town centre with big square. Beatiful view of mountain from town centre

Bolzano has a few things to do. We were only there for half a day, and so didn't get a chance to have a proper look around.

We were only in Bozen 2 days and tried only two of the restaurants. It was fun walking around the city and could have cheerfully done a lot more exploring.

Have to say I had written off Bozen as a worker day town with nothing to offer prior to visiting, but I was wrong. A most interesting old town and plenty of river walks. The Ritten cable car and railway are not to be missed and are a 10 minute walk from the station. A number of museums make up for a very interesting place.

Nice city and I liked that they speak German. The market was quite good. The architecture was beautiful. Not typical Italian.

..and you will be given a guest card, entitling you to free entry to museums and cable cars, among other things. We saved a lot of money this way. We took a free cable car ride with stunning views up the hill for dinner, and visited the excellent Otzi museum for nothing. We took a free ride on a bus to the Messner Mountain Museum and got into the very interesting and attractive museum for nothing. This is a brilliant way to attract visitors.

Tyrolean charms meets modern living in the picturesque city of Bozen/Bolzano. The city if filled with charm and character in addition to modern shops and amenities. Churches, markets, back streets, meandering lanes and beautiful buildings can be found in Bozen/Bolzano. You can sample a cappuccino whilst people watching, walk into the cathedral, grab a traditional Italian pizza in a pizzeria, go for an aperitif in one of the many bars in the cities or wonder along the countless hikes and bike trailsVery impressive and always a pleasure to visit.Just watch during the summer months as this City is regarded as one of the hottest in Italy due to the surronding mountain valley. The town has a well connected Train Station and an Airport connecting to Rome.

Stunning food stalls in town centre ... less impressed by the "Saturday Market" ( clothes etc) but a picnic sourced from fresh bread, local Speck and salads is stunning....
