When they are frozen they are brilliant to climb on, but a little busy when fresh snow fall rules out many of the other cascades.
lovely for a picnic or an afternoon walk. definitely would spend more time to explore the area. for good pics I would visit at the morning or late afternoon
If in the area, definitely worth a visit. The water is crystal clear, the path is well maintained. You need to climb a bit going up and it could be slippery because the earh tends to be wet.
The falls are quite beautiful; however, care needs to be taken on the trail leading up to them, since there are portions of the trail which are poorly maintained. Viewing the falls is well worth the hike--but trekking poles are a useful adjunct!
from the parking of Lillaz take the left street, it is a climb up bit then you arrive up the waterfalls and can get down, which is easier the the road that goes from the city center to the waterfall and up.
Worth a visit. We had a long hike where we started in Lillaz and completed at the waterfalls. It felt like a reward.
Easy walk to see them, also interesting geological trail vey well explained. Good for the lazy, the old and the young. Worth going.
After a short walk you reach these very beautiful waterfalls in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views all around. Not to be missed staying in Cogne.
The best series of waterfalls I have ever seen. A short hike will delight you. A longer hike (up to 10 km) along the river will show you some of the most wonderful series of falls you could wish to see. Not huge, like Niagara of the ones in Brazil (Iguazu, I believe), but incredibly pretty and still powerful, though relatively small. Go in June when the snowmelt and rainfalls are most active.
This is probably very crowded in the summer, as it's an easy walk from Cogne, but it was spectacular in uncrowded September.
Good walk for the less thna perfect day as it is in forest out of the wind and clear sky less important. Plenty of options to make it longer. Map essential to make the most of it
Very enjoyable walk! Pleasant and easy. An hour away from Cogne, through the pathway and some ten minute uphill along the stream to the waterfall. Slightly tough steps towards the end, but manageable. Excellent view and environment. Crystal clear and very cold water. Excellent picnic site.
We enjoyed an afternoon hiking up to the waterfalls and are glad we took the time. It was an fairly easy hike and we were rewarded by the beauty of the area and the falls.
nice, not dramatic. a lovely walk to get to it. I recommend it, if you like some exercise, coupled with a good photo op.
Absolutely incredible views at every perch along the hike!! Some parts of trail a bit steep but do-able for any age and fitness level. Lillaz Waterfalls is a must-do when visiting the Cogne Valley and Gran Paradiso Park.
