One of the most beautiful basílicas in Turin! The outside is very nice and the interior is also great!
From outside doesn't look special at all, however it is worth a visit as the interior is absolutely amazing and rather circular shape than a typical rectangular church. Highly recommended!!!
We were advised to visit this church by one of the room attendants at Palazzo Reale and we were extremely glad that we took her advice. It is difficult to describe this church but it is such and unusual shape and stunningly decorated that it is a must to visit.
Situated at about 600mt on sea level this Basilica was built in remembrance of a victory of the Piemontese Army against the French. From the square you can enjoy a stunning panorama of the City and the Alps.
I loved the view. The architecture is amazing and there's a nice piazza in front of this place. I recommend!
A short walk from Palazzo Madama - don't miss this church. It has a circular shape and is highly decorated - just beautiful.
This church may be small, but it makes up in detail and uniqueness! I have been to many churches in Europe and this was like no other. I highly recommend this very cool church.
What a nice surprise .... What a wonderful surprise . A great Baroque Church . Very nice inside and out. But in all honesty the inside is the selling point
our group ventured up here for a lunch get together. It was more of an olive oil competition than a lunch. Each of our Italian friends brought olive oil that was the best in Italy. Not sure who won, I think we all did. One exchange between a Canadian friend and an Italian friend was classic. At the conclusion of our lunch our Dan from Toronto said "Okay, what's the plan?". Our laid back buddy from Turino answered "There is no plan...and it's flexible". that pretty much summed up our stay in Italy
I came across this beautiful basilica by case. I didn't plan to go and see it but once i was in there I felt like in paradise. It a Baroque church, really rich with gold details. Lots of different types of marble. The atmosphere inside is supernatural.
Not to be missed. All I can say is "wow" , stunning. If you are visiting the museum of The Shroud , please take time to visit this it is only a few minutes walk and then pop over the courtyard for a coffee.
Great view of Torino! I went on a trip back in 2005.I remember the windy view from the courtyard in front of the Basilica ... it was very nice. The basilica itself is quite nice as well!
When I asked for places to visit in a Day at Turín The hotel point me several places but I found number 1 in trip advisor this basílica so I desided to visit it Also!! And ir was really gorgeous!! A small basílica nice outside but inside is really amazing! Everywhere you ser you world find details I definitlt recommend you!! This is a must in Turín a beautifull exposition of The barroque period!!
This is an absolutely stunning building, outside and inside. It appears that one or two previous reviewers didn't actually visit this location! The detail is awesome with an unusual layout with several small chapels around the outside. Of all the beautiful buildings we saw while in Italy, this one was undoubtedly one of the more memorable. There's a fascinating story about how, following a vision, a blind man found an icon in the crypt which then miraculously cured him! In the building there are lots of paintings on the walls showing how the icon has still been performing miracles more recently! This icon was the reason that so much care was taken decorating the interior of this building. It's worth looking in the crypt to see the stained glass window showing the discovery of the icon. The only slight downside was a woman working there who seemed determined not to help with a question we asked. However, in no way could any such occurrence detract from this being a five star verdict!
Travelled to the basilica today, sun was a little hazy so the view was not fantastic, but the journey on the train and the all round experience when you got there was something that should not be missed if you come to Turin
