First, you need to know that this museum does not belong to Lamborghini company (or Volkswagen Group who own Lamborghini). This museum is ran by Fabio Lamborghini, a nephew of Ferruccio, and it's absolutely crucial to visit this museum on a guided tour with him. During the tour, Fabio shares many extremely interesting stories regarding the life of Ferruccio, that make the visit worthwhile. Otherwise, it's just another hangar with old cars and machinery. Thanks to the stories shared during the tour, it's probably the best car museum I've visited. Make sure to call in advance to book your tour. Also, take note of the address, as the old location in Dossa has changed to a new one in Funo.

Well me and my son had just completed a visit to the Lamborghini factory museum, then drove short distance to the Lamborghini Private collection.Well had a great welcome from the hosts and the museum is in a different league to the other one it has some fantastic cars , tractors and more and pictures and fabulous info and stories , also we had mini guided tour and also Fabio welcomed us and took us into his office to sign a book I bought for my son with pictures of us all.Son and I loved it Fabio is a passionate man about his museum and that made the visit special and we will be back with friends and good luck with new location. So close to Pagani and other Lamborgini museum by car, and I believe even if no car you can get out from Bologna by train.Do not forget to visit this museum as this is the true Lamborghini museum thanks to Fabio and his team for a very enjoyable afternoon

When we were planning our Spring Break trip to Italy, I noticed that Lamborghini, Ferrari and Pagani are all close to Bologna -- which is an easy day trip from Florence. The new high-speed Trenitalia line will get you there in just 35 minutes for ~30 euros in Premium class. So my wife agreed to a "Guys Day" in the land of supercars.First, there are two Lamborghini museums: the factory museum, and the Lamborghini family museum. The factory was closed for Easter week, but the Lamborghini family museum wasn't open yet -- they moved to a new building and the grand opening was scheduled two weeks later. Fortunately our guide, Francesco Bini at Motorstars.org, knew who to call. We arrived and were greeted by Fabio Lamborghini, the nephew of Ferruccio -- the famous founder. He gave us a personal tour, full of stories about the tractors that gave Ferruccio his start, his first race car, the famous Countach, the helicopter (yes, a Lamborghini helicopter!) and the record setting boat with monster 12 cylinder engines. It became clear that Ferruccio was the Steve Jobs of 'mobile' technology at the time, a real genius with anything that contained an engine. (Some photos are attached.)I am sure the Lamborghini factory museum is great, but the family collection provides insight into the history behind the now-famous supercars. I came away with much more appreciation and respect for Ferruccio's vision and accomplishments. Fabio's kind offer to give us a personal tour before the new museum opened was also memorable. This is a definite must-see if you visit the Florence / Bologna area. I strongly recommend the expert guide who introduced us to Fabio -- and took us through Museo Ferrari, the Pagani assembly line and a few laps behind the wheel of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia at Autodromo di Modena race track: Francesco Bini at Motorstars.org. Francesco worked at Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani, and seems to know everyone in the industry, every car, every engine and part. We saw things we would not have otherwise, and Francesco's knowledge was very helpful. I found him on TripAdvisor, and now we know why he has very high ratings!A note on the trains from Florence to Bologna: This was the first time for us, and we had no problems. Buy your tickets ahead of time online from Trenitalia; they can sell out, even in Premium and Business class. The new high-speed line gets you there in just 35 minutes, which makes a day trip easy. We left at 7:30 and returned at 6. Fares are low, and the new trains are better than the Accela in the US. Francesco picked us up at the Bologna Centrale station and provided the transport to Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.Mark Hays

Must do for car passionates, especially when you are able to have the guided tour. Comparing to the factory museum, this museum shows more about the early periods.

Well.............. What can I say?Fabio Lamborghini gave us a personal tour of Ferruccio Lamborghini's personal Museum. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in Italy (a country we love so much and have had many beautiful times).Fabio took his time to explain Lamborghinis proud history, it was genuinely heart warming to hear of such ingenious and passion to be the best. We will never forget this brilliant opportunity.I believe the factory in Dosso will know be closed for good(September 2013) but don't worry everything is moved to a larger museum closer to Bologna (which will be much easier to get to).Take some extra cash to buy some merchandise. We bought signed memorabilia and some Lamborghini wine, Fantastico. We will be back many times.Thank You FabioBrian & Pauline - Scotland xxx

Personal and friendly tour of the family museum - got an inept history tour - loved it worth a trip from Milan over the day - be sure to book your visit - limited tours only on request - one of my favorite car museums (have been to BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari and other Lamborghini).

During my visit to Italy I visited the official Lamborghini museum (showroom), the factory, and the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum. The combination of all three will give you the perfect Lamborghini experience in Emilia Romagna. Fabio Lamborghini is a true gentleman who will share with you great stories about the Lamborghini history. In the museum there are some truly amazing cars - Ferruccio Lamborghinis private Miura SV, some very interesting prototypes including the Jalpa Spyder, and of course Ferruccio's own first race car: the small Prototipo Ferruccio Lamborghini from 1947.You can take a bus from other cities (eg Bologna) to Cento and a cab from there (museum is around 6 km from Cento), or go with your own car.For photos: http://www.getpalmd.com/2012/08/ferruccio-lamborghini-museum/

We found out about this museum on a car forum where numerous people were raving about their visit. The museum does not have opening hours. You have to call or email the owner/director who will open it for you and give you a tour ! (fabio.lamborghini@libero.it).The museum is quite out of the way, so take a map, but it's well worth the visit. It's housed in a lovely building, which is crammed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of Lamborghini's, from the early tractors, to all the classic cars, many prototypes and even a helicopter! However what made the tour was Fabio himself ! Nephew of Ferruccio Lamborghini, he was a lovely man, impeccably dressed and told some great stories. He takes you round each item and tells you about the history and why it is important, it was fascinating. If you are in the area and like cars, then you have to visit, it's €15 well spent and you get to see some beautiful cars !

Museo veramente interessante e molto curato.
