Small Island, very green and in my view the best of the Aeolian Islands. Liked the peace and quiet.Can take a while to get there, lots of travelling.

Much prettier and far less hectic than Lipari. Definitely preferred Salina. We stayed in Malfa which was a delightful and charming little village built in to the hillside on the far side of the island. Very charming, quiet and surprisingly well stocked for restaurants!

We stayed here in juli for 4 days and must say we liked this beautiful green and colourfull island very much.From far away you can already notice the shape of the island consisting of two extinct old vulcano's.We stayed at malfa which is very easy going with only nice people.We walked up the monte Fossa (about 950 m) for the view all from Malfa (missed the one hourly bus) in about 2 hours and 40 minutes while we paused at the Valle delle Ciesa with the church.There is a very beautiful but strenuous walk very steep down when you take the small Malfa "shortcut path" on the way back, but wow this path was worth it! See my pictures.I saw an eagle flying away from that rock, and some paths reminded me of my former Sumatra vulcano hikes..Also Pollara is very nice and not touristy at all...till now.We did everything by bus and left the car at Milazzo at a garage for 11 euro a day...

Travelling to Salina is so worth the effort, it is quiet even in high season! Driving around the island felt like we were clearly off-season with so few other cars/tourists. For a true "get-away-from-it-all" holiday, choose sleepy, beautiful SALINA!!

This is a great island - not too big, so in 2-3 days you can see everything. It is green and beautiful. Centrally located and the people are very pleasant.

We spent a weekend on Salina to break up our time in Italy. It is a lovely place, very much worth a visit. We stayed in Malfa and rented a scooter to get around the island. We were constantly finding places to stop and admire the amazing views.We were there before the real peak season kicked in so it was still a lovely quite place.Tip, take a visit to the Fenech winery in Malfa and try their award winning Fenech Malvasia Delle Lipari Passito!

Great feeling of an authentic place, full of nice friendly people.Beautiful green mountains - don't miss the climbing of Monte Fossa. Great sea, clear water. The only small downside is that there is only a small sandy beach near Rinella, all the others are pebbles or rocks. Good location to hop to the other islands

Salina is an island in the Aeolian Islands and it's the second largest. I loved Malfa, I loved sea, but I didn't like seaside, too stony and not equipped.

Ci sono stata una volta ed è stato subito amore. Un'isola molto graziosa nelle sue vie che offre delle spiagge a dir poco meravigliose e da cartolina! Si farebbero foto ad ogni passo per non perdere nemmeno uno scorcio di ciò che si vede! L'isola è ben collegata con dei bus frequenti. Una zona molto affascinante è sicuramente Pollara con i suoi strapiombi vulcanici sul mare.

Bella e 'romantica', non c'è che dire. Un altro vulcano nel blu del Mar Tirreno. Arrivandovi dal mare, la vista è straordinaria.

Die grüne Insel, die überwiegend unter (gelebtem) Naturschutz steht, ist auch Ende Oktober wunderschön gewesen. Im Sommer vermutlich zu heiß auf der Südseite. Wer Strände sucht muss suchen, da die Insel überwiegend aus Steilküsen besteht. Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht ist in der Nachsaison sehr gut aufgehoben. Sehr freundliche Menschen auf der Insel!

Un'isola fantastica dove la natura manifesta la sua prorompente vitalità. C'è solo da estasiarsi e meravigliarsi ogni volta che vai a Salina.

A salina c e' davvero tutto ciò che mi aspettavo da una vacanza in un isola meditteraneo; c e' il mare, il sole, i profumi del gelsomino, dell origano , il profumo del mare , i colori dei fiori , dell acqua!. .. Salina e' sicuramente molto di più di un posto di mare. E' anche terra , e ' un isola dove si può anche camminare e salire ad ammirare il verde della natura e dall alto godere di paesaggi e orizzonti mozzafiato. Gli isolani sono molto cordiali e disponibili . Stranamente disponibili e disposti ad aprire le loro case dove siamo stati invitati in varie occasioni per lunghe pause caffè e aperitivi. Cibo di ottima qualità ovunque . Da lombarda mi ha fatto un po' rabbia come non venga sfruttata di più ,per il turismo intendo. Poi rientrata a casa mi sono resa conto che forse è meglio così , la rende ancor più affascinante,naturale e vera, esattamente com' e' la gente che la abita. La consiglio vivamente a chi ama stare in posto italiano di bellezza pura in mezzo ad un mare favoloso. Spero di tornare presto.
