This fabulous little bar became our local while we were in Taormina. Things that might be useful to you.1. The Bruschetta is to die for. Unfortunately the owner didn't share her secret recipe, but they were so adorable, we kept going back for more.2. In more formal restaurants in Sicily, you have to eat two courses for your meal, hor's deovres, primo, secondo or dessert. Choose two. However in Re di Bastoni, you could order snacks, either bruchetta, salad, panini etc. These were exquisite, and didn't leave you feeling completely stuffed.3. This place is reasonably priced. I mean it's on Corso Umberto in Taormina, you don't expect prices to be reasonalbe, but they are.4. The atmosphere, including either jazz cds, and both live music, was brilliant, cosmopolitan and relaxing.5. I grew to love aperol spritz in this bar.6. The decor is both artisan and welcoming, and the proprietors are very friendly.I would recommend you visit.

We had lunch at this little place on Corso Umberto in Taormina. Much more reasonably priced than many places in this beautiful but touristy town. The mixed bruschetta I can particularly recommend. The waiters, all wearing tee shirts from either Tarot cards or Alice in wonderland (not sure which), were cheerful and efficient, and we enjoyed the whole experience.

Emphasis on Sicilian. A great place for substantial snacks, such as bruschettas and sandwiches. All ingredients are sourced locally and are chosen for freshness and high quality. Beverages are reasonably priced. Service is cheerful and helpful.

Been visiting for a number of years and always get a great welcome as well as good food and excellent drinks at very reasonable price. If you're very lucky you may catch the owner practicing the piano in the early evening. He's concert standard but very humble about his ability.

We stopped in for a beer while the rain passed and were impressed with the nice beers offered, and each in a different style of appropriate German glass/pilsner/goblet. The seating is a bit cramped but there was plenty of it! A good pub on a very busy tourist street. Still, you were never ignored. Nice.

Favourite bar in Taormina that became like our local on our 10 day trip. Gorgeous little place done out in a quirky homely way inside, or seats outside to watch the craziness of Corso Umberto. Excellent selection of drinks and good simple food for lunch or a relaxed dinner.Friendly and professional staff headed up by an amazing couple - Sicilian Tano and his English wife Lynne - we were made to feel very at home. They were also our saviours when we lost our apartment keys to the bottom of the sea, and had no money or phones! Cannot recommend this place highly enough to anyone visiting Taormina.

Highly recommended for many reasons (in no particular order); friendly, personable & informative staff who are more than happy to spend time chatting and describing the local wines on offer, simple yet delicious, fresh food; perfect location for people watching (you can easily spend hours doing this!) and if you're really lucky the owner, the fabulous Tano will get on the piano and play until he runs out of steam. Lynne, Tano, Emanuel and the lovely lady whose name we can't remember (too much vino bianco!) - we'll definately see you all next year! Best Wishes from Nick & Cathy xx

Quaint little tables and chairs inside and out on the Corso Umberto, Taormina. Snack type food which is tasty and delivered quickly.

I think most people wander in here for a beer, but it was also an inexpensive place to have a sandwich with the family while touring Taormina. Nicely decorated and attentive staff.

We only drank here, it is a little pricey for drinks but apparently the bellini is fantastic. Great place to sit and judge italians

If you're walking through Corso Umberto, want to eat great food and have a nice and charming staff then the best place in Corso is Re di Bastoni. It's staff is so friendly and they speak English. It has nice decor and great jazz music. If you want to chill, Re di Bastoni is a place to be!
