If you consider his place to be just another park then you are in for a surprise. Frogner Park is popular for its Vigeland installation and most of the tourists flock to here to see these sculptures. Apart from the sculptures, the park also offers s various other sites like the manor, open air baths and a whole lot more. A perfect picnic spot too.
You should plan to visit this huge and amazing park when you go to Oslo..Vigeland's statues are wonderful, and you can spend lot of time by taking pictures of them and of the great view surrounding them! I wouldn't go there in rainy days,'cause there's no chance to repair anywhere except that in the coffee at the entrance of the park.
It is almost connected to the Vigeland park and it is also a nice place for bbq and have a walk. You will find many people jogging... it is a bit crowd during weekend and there are always tourists around. Good place for family time!
I guess you must see this because it is an attraction and everyone will have it on their list. All nude statues. The park's nice and open. It was winter, so snow white. Not memorable.Perhaps different in summer.
The status were so unique. Just groups of people in such interesting arrangements. You must see it to understand.
Nature and art combined into a wonderful place for everyone's soul. Statues by Gustav Vigeland, lots of flowers and walking paths, fountains...
The park is both the sculptures with the monolit, and the surrounding areas. It is Norways most visited place, even if there are several others who claim the same. Mostly this park is it due to the easy access from tram, bus and aslo by foot if you are staying in Oslo. Some times during winter if there is enough snow, there are cross country ski-tracks, during summer it's picnics or relaxing/playing some sport with your friends on the grass. There are even some yoga-sessions or other organized training some places.
Statues created by Gustav Vigeland. Take a photo with Sinnataggen, the popular angry boy, but please do not touch his hand, contrary to popular belief if you touch his hand you'll get bad luck. Seriously. I highly recommend visiting during summer as it's much nicer then. You can have a picnic by the grass. Also check out the other parts of Frogner park, you'll find a statue of Abraham Lincoln! I'll leave it to you to find it.
Great place, i recommend it a lot. Go there you will see beautiful statues. There were little bit cold when we were there.
If you're feeling like a lazy stroll it is worth having a look at Frogner Park. All sorts of weird statues are in this park which I doubt you'd see anything like anywhere else!
Nice walking around and study all the fantastic human beeings in Granite! Very nice for children in any age and suitable for anyone who likes walking around in a park. No traffic, peaceful and full of Granite people.
Go there on a sunny spring- or summer Sunday. Explore the statuepark and end up at Herregårdskroa for lunch, dinner or just a drink
Great place for picnics, if you're not a prude lol, my Grandkids called it "the rude statue park"! But the park is well kept, and vast, with water features and plenty of area for the kids to play in.
