The surroundings and the fantastic view in the area with mountains and fjords in North Norway at the Artic region!
We took a boat and then transfered a bus to the mountain for dog sledding and saw the amazing view of Lyngen Alps. I felt I was in the heaven.
The Fjord view with the mountains and sea coupled with a starlit Aurora Borealis night sky is almost unreal. There's much to do here with cross country skiing, dogsledding, snowmobile and fishing. During the winter months the coast of Troms and the Lyngen Alps is fed by the warm Gulf Stream from the North Atlantic currents so temperature is not as cold as those areas further inland in the Arctic laplands.
A very nice and well organized experience. The personnel is very competent and relaxed, and the dogs .. well you will wish you can take them with you when you leave
A visit to Lyngen Alps is must if you are around Tromso and if it s winter. The mountains have that fairytale snow landscapes. I joined a tour and did snowshoeing which is a type of trekking in snowy and icy mountains. It was a joyful day and I am glad that i have been there once in my life time.
The Lyngen Alps are a beautiful mountain range in northern Norway. Known for exceptional off piste skiing every year from February to April. Also worth a visit from November to January for Northern Lights viewing.
Very nice surrounding here and the snow-covered mountains present a view that reminds us of the Christmas cards we used to send around, presenting a wintry feel. The alps here presents good walking opportunities but the weather now (mid-October) is a bit too early for good dog sledding. We had a nice view of the alsp when we took a ferry from Breivikeidet to Svensby.
The mountains are so close and there are many of them.Sometimes it's hard to climb to the top of the mountain, because there are no lifts. So please prepare yourself
The most dramatic scenery we have ever seen. With blue skies and snow covered mountains sweeping into the fjords, just breathtaking!
Well worth the short drive out of Tromsø to see the Lyngan Alps, if you can afford the time take the ferry across and drive through the mountains and then take the long scenic loop back to Tromsø.
Usually reached via Tromso. A good 2 hour drive in bad weather and the ferry can be cancelled. BUT well worth the effort. Lovely views, pretty villages with good accommodation. Try to visit Koppangenbrygger if you can.
Loved the views, but the 3 days I was there, it was cloudy and snowing most of the time. However, there could be more place to park the car on the roadside, perhaps it would be ok in summer, but in winter I had the feeling that unless you have a large area to stop by the roadside, it would be too dangerous to stop the car. That said, unfortunately the best views and experiences that I had is stored only in my head. Can't take pictures while driving the car. NExt time I come back I'll take up cross country skiing.
Einfach super!
