This is the biggest plague column in Europe. Best seen on a sunny day, with the gold Trinity at the top shining at its best. Take your time to examine all the figures on the outside of the column. The tiny chapel in the interior doesn't have much to show.
I totally agree that this is the no 1 tourist attraction in Olomouc and it was the main reason of my i night stay here in Nov 2014. It is definitely the most eye-catching monument when you walked to the square around the town tall. There is the copper gilded sculpture of Holy Trinity on the top of the column and followed by several layers of stone sculpture of saints as the base of the column. I came here several times to capture its beauty at different times (day and night of course). There is a little chapel at the bottom which I did not get in there. Why not make a trip to Olomouc to witness yourself the beauty of this UNESCO heritage site cum religious monument if you are in Czech Republic/Prague
I can say only WHAU. Beautyful place! Romatic, really. I recommend it for all who like history. The statue is a beatiful historic square.
It's a UNESCO world heritage site so it is not only beautiful and historic, but it is unique also, which is a requirement for a such an accolade. It is pretty much one of a kind. Don't miss it.
The column is high and old (18th century) and it is hard to miss when you enter the square.Looks a bit drab on an overcast day but the lights at night are charming.
Recently visited Olomouc and seen the monument on the main market square of Olomouc. The column itself is very impressive and the surrounding buildings and other smaller monuments make it even nicer. Must see place in Olomouc.
This is very impressive and I have never seen anything quite like this- however it is not really evident that it is to commemorate victims if the plague unless you had read about it previously.
Beautiful piece of art - so many details... This column looks really good. Definitely worth visiting.
Stunning piece of architecture. Plaque Column made in the art the Baroque. Picturesque night view. Recommend to see
The Holy Trinity Column, a monument to those who died during the Plague, is an excellent meeting point in the center of Olomouc. It's slightly taller than Prague's, so obviously you have to visit! Be sure to check out the astronomical clock nearby and grab a (cheap, but good) beer in one of the cafes.
One of Olomouc's must-sees. The sculpture is great but the surface has been slightly worn out so it doesn't look that clean. The squares are nice places for relaxing.
If you're lucky enough to visit Olomouc, you'll no doubt see this beautiful monument which is a UNESCO site located in the Upper Square. It's a lovely place to explore and then sit by and watch the activity on the square.
I've visited Olomouc a few times, and am never disappointed at the lovely view of the Column and Town Hall as you approach the square. The Column of course dominates it, but take time to look at the buildings as well, some of which were palaces in former times. Even the cafes (with their awful wooden terraces), add to the atmosphere. It's nice, just sitting on the steps of the column on a sunny day just watching the world go by.The small chapel is sometimes open to visitors.
It is a magnificent example of Roccoco sculpture one of many within the city. The tradition continues with modern works commissioned throughout the city. A feast for the eyes
It is a fantastic monument and it is on unesco World hertage sitesince 2000.A small chapel is in the lower part..it is 32 meter tall the monument ..It is fantastic..
