The Lednice castle has the wide area for travel and take the photogrph. More beautiful place, garden and flower in the glass house.

The palace and grounds at Lednice are beautiful. Its easy to spend the whole day there exploring the palace, gardens and lake. You can even take a boat trip which takes you to the minaret, where you can climb to the top and get an amazing view of the lovely estate.

The chateau Lednice is a truly beautiful building with unique architecture. It is surrounded by an extensive garden created by the Liechtenstein family. Besides the chateau, there are other attractions such as the minaret and St.John's Castle. It is a fantastic place to cycle and there is also a boat who travels from the chateau to the ruins of St.John Castle (Janohrad in Czech).

The buildings are mostly closed during the winter months, but the garden is available even then, and it's well worth visiting. It's a huge, but somehow not pretentious aristocratic garden, with lovely ponds, paths, benches. Very-very pleasant place for a long walk.

There are multiple tour routes available (off-season just one) with large garden and you can spend whole day here

This neo-Gothic castle/chateau shows how wealthy; obscenely wealthy, some of the aristocratic families were several centuries ago. The Liechtenstein's summer palace is enormous. The gardens are extensive and spectacular. Ponds were excavated from the chateau to the Turkish style minaret almost 1.5 Km away.We did marvel at the buildings. The chateau and attached greenhouse are beautifully maintained. The minaret is currently being restored. The changing vistas when walking from the chateau to the minaret are stunning. There are beautiful reflections in the water. The line of site from the chateau to the minaret is clear of trees, but everywhere else there are old trees, especially old oaks an plane trees. The paths are well maintained. The bridges to a couple of islands in the ponds are currently closed. The prettier walk from the chateau to the minaret is between the canal and the lake. The walk is flat on a fine, crushed limestone path. The other side of the pond is closer to the road. There is no fee when the buildings are closed.

Lednice castle is situated in a picturesque landscape at South Moravia. After visiting the residence rebuilt in a Tudor-Gothic style and the greenhouse, have a nice walk in the Chateau park, climb to the top of the minaret, enjoy the atmosphere of John's Castle. After that not only the permanent residence at Valtice is worth to visit, but there are many other places in the Lednice-Valtice World Heritage area like Temple of Diana (or Rendezvous), Temple of the Three Graces, Colonnade, Border House with restaurant and hotel.

Well worth a visit. A Neo-Gothic structure and hunting lodge-like interior that you could envision like in a fairy tale story.

We visited a variety of well-furnished, interesting rooms with a guide who spoke very good English and answered all our questions. She was very patient. The grounds are spectacular.

Interesting tour through the beautiful castle rooms. And then the green house, something special! So many exotic flowers in Czech republic. It is also worth to go on a boat ride to the minaret, which offers breathtaking views.

A chateau that is ornately designed in a neo gothic style from the Lichtenstein family era of the mid 18th century. The grounds and gardens are far more interesting and make for a great (free) walk out to the Minaret and back (40 mins each way) giving views over the whole Lednice-Valtice area worthy of its UNESCO heritage. The cafe at the Minaret serves small snacks, coffee and beer and a small charge for using the toilet (K6)

The chateau is very beautiful and well maintained. Don´t forget to bring your coat, the interior was very cold in April even if it was sunny. The guided tour was full of interesting information, though not overwhelming. Next to the chateau there is a magnificent historical greenhouse (you can even buy some plants) and all is surrounded by a park (in the park there is an indented body of water). The minaret (the entrance is nearly for free) is within walking distance.

Although we arrived late for the tour inside the castle the gardens and the views outside the castle did not disappoint. the place is so beautiful and breathtaking. I loved the designs of the gardens.

Prince Liechtenstein during the Napoleonic wars dreamed about the ideal of good old England and he mage his dreams built up in South Moravia, a huge cultural landscape listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Here you can feel the magic of aristocratic English atmosphere with a bit much sunlight than in England.Practical info:* although the whole region is bike friendly, in the parks of the chateau biking is prohibited.* visiting the park is free of charge, ticket is needed to visit the collections, the palm house and to climb up to the minaret

I've just come back from a visit to the Lednice-Valtice region. It has been a truly enjoyable trip!Lednice chateau and its grounds are especially beautiful and huge. If you have to choose between visiting Lednice or Valtice, I would certainly recommend Lednice! The chateau itself can be visited only in groups, at certain times, and you have to count with waiting for the entry. It is best to buy the ticket first upon your arrival and while waiting you can walk around the chateau's flower garden or visit the green house (separate entrance fee). Guided tours are available only in Czech language but you get a written information on the rooms on the required language. Buying a ticket for the entry is not very practical as you need separate tickets for the ground floor halls and for the first floor private apartments. On the grounds there are a few sights, e.g. a minaret which serves as a viewing tower, John's Castle, and an old bathing house. You can approach these sights either on foot, or by carriage or by boat. I have tried all these. The whole area is very well kept and there are several walking trails and small canals and ponds. However, there are not enough signs with directions, which makes sometimes difficult to find your way. E.g. from the minaret it is difficult to find the small pier where the boat trips start. If you have time to visit Valtice, as well, it is very easy to take a local bus from Lednice. Journey time is very short and the ticket (CZK 16) can be bought from the driver. At the bus station you'll find the time-table. Be careful as there is a siesta time in CR between 12-13h when everything, except restaurants and cafés, is closed!
