grad castle

We were told of this castle while we were visiting the castle in Murska Sobota. So we decided to drive north about 30 or so minutes. The Grad castle was easy to navigate to and was situated in a very quiet area. The castle, from what I was told, is the largest castle (300+ rooms) in Slovenia. However, quite a bit of the castle is not accessible due to construction as there is a lot of remodelling going on. We were very impressed with the wine cellar and the rooms that were completed. The gentlemen on duty was very nice, spoke english and very helpful. All in all a very nice and pleasant side trip. Oh yeah, they do sell wine from the local region...highly recommend picking up a bottle or two.

Первое впечатление от этого замка....Грозовой перевал....он стоит такой суровый среди туч....и словно сейчас навстречу выйдут рыцари и вельможи,дамы и простолюдины....Ощущение старины везде

Красивый замок, расположенный на горе над городом, посреди леса. Замок довольно большой, однако идет реставрация и реконструкция (часть замка переделана в отель).
