Great architectural bridge to cross while enjoying the views of the river and square and take photo ops while on the bridge.
This is s buzz area within old Ljubljana and always appeared busy, all attractions are nearby with loads of eating options
This is the heart of the old city, and the epicenter of all the foot traffic in the pedestrian zone. It is a definite must see!
Unfortunately it is not as photogenic from ground level as it is from above. A very interesting square with restaurants and bars along the river
There are many cafes and pubs around. It's basicly center of capital so if you are there, there's everything you need. You can go shoping, eating or go for drinks. There is also live traditional music all the time. If you are lucky and have great weather there's nothing more beautiful in Ljubljana.
Interesting triple bridge that lights up at night. If you have the chance to grab a coffee or enjoy a drink while looking to it on the evening, it's super recommended!
This is probably one of the most visited/photographed places in Ljubljana. The bridges are quite nice to see and as some have already mentioned, it is quite difficult to miss them when visiting the city. You'll only need like 20-30mins to see it all. Take your camera with you, this is the one place you want to have pictures of when going back home ;)
If you are in town it's hard not to go over bridges. Pleasant walk, seen better, and much worse. Not much need for tour only 20min
The views from the bridge are beautiful. the bridges are very small and adjacent to each other. The view of the town square and kanal/canal and the quay side shops is nice in the evenings.
The central stone bridge from Three Bridges in 1842 stands on the site of a former wooden, strategically important medieval bridge that connected the Land of North-West Europe and the Balkans and South Eastern Europe. Between 1929 and 1932, the central bridge famous local arhitect inventor Jože Plečnik (also worked in Viena and Praha...) added two bridges, intended for pedestrians and thus create a unique architectural Ljubljana. The central bridge Plečnik removed the metal fence, and all three bridges equipped with massive stone fence, which he placed the lamp. With each side bridges, two stairways lead to the terrace by the river. There is Plečnik gave planted poplar canopy is a unique appearance of the Bridge. On the right bank of the bridge complements the store with gifts at the beginning of the Market, on the left bank by a kiosk. Three Bridges is also a key point where the two intersect Plečnik urban axis of the river axis and the axis connecting central town hill Rožnik and the Ljubljana Castle. Three Bridges in 1992 was thoroughly renovated.Legend says that Plečnik got the idea for the bridge near in the church, where one of the depicted saints hands clasped in the form of three bridges...Stadard meeting point for local people...
I found the triple bridge quite interesting - from an architectural point of view. It's just across the street from the Ljubljana Tourist Information office so it should definitely be on your list to visit. I do, however, wish there was a platform nearby so the bridge could be viewed from above, as I bet that's when you can really appreciate the architecture. If you're interested, I wrote more about the triple bridge and other works by architect Jože Plečnik here: http://www.ilovejourneys.com/trailing-the-architecture-of-one-of-ljubljanas-finest-joze-plecnik/
Don't understand very well why this is so famous. Maybe historical meaning or symbolic. Anyhow cross the bridges, come back and cross again and go for a walk along the riverside. No more to say. Just do.
One thing you keep on wondering while there: why there are three bridges in one place?Nevertheless, this is what makes this place special.
My wife and I enjoyed the sights of Lubljana and the way in which the happy atmosphere of the city extends over the river with the Triple Bridge which was full with happy locals and their familites.
Great photo opportunity! I love the Parisian style locks on the bridge over the Ljubljanica River, and the views of the bridge towards the castle; stunning at sunset. Walking streets with all the regular culprits; H&M, Zara, Lush, etc except the cobblestones add a little charm and the street itself is very wide, which I liked, we were not shoulder to shoulder. I am sure in the summer it is a different story but winter, just after New Years Eve, we had the best experience.
