This park reminded us of the Jardin Public we visit in Bordeaux where we live. Very nice, quiet park Small area especially for children, with animals, birds, etc. Did not walk the complete park in that it is very large.
Nice place to get some fresh air in the summer with some farm animals that canbe feed by children ...and parents ! ;-)
Nice park on the south side of the city. Nicely planted with a broad thoroughfare with a cafe and small zoo with aquarium. Really nice sculptures, some of which are interactive and plenty of places to sit and soke up the ambiance and eat a picnic.
Quiet and peaceful, yet within a city! Perfect to relax in with plenty to see, including aviaries and fish. A lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon, with lots of places to sit and watch the world go by. There is a cafe within the grounds, also toilets but these were not open when we visited, so not sure if they are now shut for the season or not.
This park has lovely avenues of trees and is set high above the outer areas of Poitiers town. Well kep and very easy to walk around is a good place to relax. Good views . Easy to walk to from the busy centre .
Well worth coming here and having a walk around the lovely grounds. Very peaceful and easy to walk to.
This is a very beautiful park, even if it's not really on the touristic track. If you have time, it's best to walk there so not to worry about parking, even though I think we saw some parking signs. Travelling with children? This is perfect for the little ones as a break in the visiting of cathedrals, castles and museums kind of days. There is a playground, a small area with few animals they can look at and a pond where they can feed ducks and fish. Don't be put off but this description; the park is not only for children. It's a very big area with something of interest for everybody: French Garden, English Garden, an old train station, a mini zoo, fountains, pond etc. Beautiful place for a picnic or for a morning run. All together, this is a welcome oasis on a hoe summer day, excellent for relaxation and enjoying the lovely well kept plants.
It is a lovely place to sit and have lunch. All the flowers are kept neet and the garden paths are tidy. You can take nice pictures there anytime
Plenty of walks, children's play area, lots of open green areas and plenty of trees, scrubs and border plants. More like a English park than a French one. Views over Poitiers.
We spent a delightful hour wandering the Parc de Blossac and were enthralled by the beautiful displays of spring bulbs and flowers. The blossom on the trees and shrubs was probably at its best and there is more to come with the wisteria, clematis and roses. The tree lined allees are just breaking into leaf and I hope we will be able to return to the garden to see the summer displays in full bloom.
What a beautiful park! Has ponds, animals, sculptures, a fountain, and ornamental trees. There is a 1.25 mile or so path around the edge of the park that was a delightful early morning run with an elevated view of Poitiers. We saw this in March, would love to see it in full bloom in the summer.
this park is big--the landscaping is wonderful--in the august weather it's in full bloom--again you have to find parking so you can see everything--it stretchers down to the water--since the town has all narrow streets that wind and is very hilly--this place pops up like an oasis
This is a beautiful space with a peaceful atmosphere. There are many trees and shrubs, flower beds and formal rows of trees lining the pathways. there are plenty of benches and lots of space to spread out. We have seen wedding parties stopping off here for photos as it provides some good backgrounds.
Enjoyed a walk around, few small animals for the children to see, roundabout open for the children (in season)!
