Out of season the park is really good, nice walk around with a lot of explanation. Well recommended for the entry fee. Well maintained and really beautiful. The shop has lots of gift and the Bonsai are incredible.

Relaxing, beautiful and also nice with young kids. We stayed 2 hours walking and watching. The cafe is also good and they offer different kinds of asian teas. The croque-monsieur was creamy and tasty and cheap.

Wonderful views within this garden. The bonsai/topiary and use of water was spectacular. Only disappointment was I didn't see a raked gravelly area. Nice Tea House too.

We were lucky enough to visit on a bright sunny and still day which made the colours incredibly vivid and the reflections in the water very clear.Whichever way you turn, there is a view, each more beautiful than the one before. The trees seem manicured and all the plants and trees well loved.A wonderful visit well worth the €7 entrance fee.

We visited this park in August 2013. On a really nice sunny day we really enjoyed walking in what was a very relaxing and quiet garden. The architecture along with the gardens were really nice and enjoyable for a few hours. We thought the price was very reasonable and although not ideal for everyone, but for anyone that enjoys their gardening it is a place of both interest and inspiration

Last year went in the daytime, but this year we visited at night. Magical experience , each visitor is given a Chinese lantern and this coupled with the discrete lighting gives the garden a completely different dimension. The Japanese inspired "cloud trees " tree pruning abound throughout as the garden and it is said to have the largest number of cloud trees outside Japan. In the day time there is a Japanese inspired tea house and gifts

We stayed at Chateau Colbert and went to the Parc Oriental by accident, and it was an overwhelming experience. Koi fishes swiming in beautiful ponds, trees and plants from all over Asia, japanese bridges... We came back every day to relax for an hour or two. Once a week they organize a night walk with lanterns. We loved it and highly recommend it.

it is a place in which it is very nice to have a walk, the various landscapes and scenarious are beautiful. I suggest to have a tea in the tearoom/bar.It would be very nice if in the shop they would sell also some teas, at least the ones you can enjoy at the tearoom/bar.If you are near this place it worth a visit.

This is a magic garden, offering interest at any point in the year. I think we have tried all seasons but I love autumn the best and early summer when the azaleas are in flower. Love the bonsai house!

We arrived just after the garden had opened and had the place to ourselves the road traffic is a little noisy to start with but as you go deeper into the garden you begin to lose all sense of time.I have to say that given the chance I could have fallen asleep anywhere in the grounds!! The plants and trees were beautiful and gave the place a magical presence. great for couples!!Anyway enough of the zen stuff!! we walked round the lake taking copius numbers of photo's, we even found out the exact same species of a tree we have in our back garden so at lwast we have a name for it.The cafe is reasonably priced, but the gift shop is a bit chintzy for my liking!! There were some zen bhuddist monks in the park doing some of their powder painting (sorry I dont know the exact term). We also went to the temple at the top of the hill to hear their prayer time which was interesting. We spent over 4 hours there and well worth a visit. A couple of points: there is car parking but there is no shade! So you'll be able to boil an egg inside your car when you get back to it. Also take some water with you it gets very hot especially if you have young children.Wheelchairs can get about but you need someone strong to push up the hilly bits

It was wet Sunday in May when we visited. As gardens go this was OK but for a Japanese Garden it lacked much of the hard landscaping I was expecting. I think the weather put the dampers on our visit, but would like to see it during the summer and in good weather.

We recently visited these gardens for the third time and they remain one of my favourite places - not what you expect to find in The Loire Valley, but really beautiful and peaceful, you feel miles away from it all, a little gem.

lovely peaceful gardens, been twice and would go back. it was full of rhododendrons and spring flowers in April and the topiary is beautiful

Visit the Parc Oriental at any time of year and see the fascinating "slow sculpture" art of Bonsai taken to its extraordinary extreme. The widest range of trees imaginable have been treated with the greatest of care to turn them into extraordinary formations. We've visited four times and although the early summer is probably the best time fro the fabulous bloom, any time of year is good. Don't miss the enchanting Japanese tea-rooms and the garden shop.

We counted up and we believe that we have visited this park-garden probably ten times now over the last several years. We have taken numerous guests and all have been impressed by the visit. This is a garden-park operated within the auspices of the small town in which it lies. It is a an enterprise of genuine civic pride. Large, easily accessible car park close to the garden entrance. As soon as you enter the park (payment required) you feel the peace and serenity of the place. An easy path of several hundred metres takes you to the gardens proper. These gardens then wrap and wend around an artificial lake so you see the splendour of the trees and shrubs from all angles, especially the incredible Jananese tree topiary.A path takes you up the side of a small hill to the Japanese tea rooms, small nursery, gift shop and another developing garden. All in all a very good afternoon or evening visit - and the gardens are still developing and extending!
