Entrance is obscured - but worth it when you arrive. Museums are free in Dijon, and this was a worthwhile one to visit. Don't forget to look around at the actual palace - not just the museum pieces.

This is a beautiful example of a classical royal palace with some Gothic parts. It has free entry and is really worth a visit.

You must go and listen to the audio guide. The explanations are so well done and add so much to the tour.

the palace and the artworks and history of the place were fascinating. Please plan to include this in your stay in Dijon if you're interested in the region!

At the heart of Dijon is the ducal palace that contains a museum/art gallery that's well worth a couple of hours. It includes some magnificent tombs, arms and armour, and a nice set of art galleries. For some reason it was free the day we chose to go, but it was still surprisingly quiet.

A lot of great paintings by well known or less well known artists. The tombs are incredible, and the Dukes's history is fascinating. I wish there was more about it, actually!

A visit here gives one a glimpse into the splendour and opulence of the Dukes of Bourgogne. Paintings and magnificent tombs require some time to truly appreciate their history. Unfortunately, we were short on time so did not have this luxury. However, definitely worth a visit no matter how rushed.

The Dukes put Dijon on the map and had some nice digs made fore themselves. Equally impressive on both inside and out. The palace is great for photographers. Worth a visit.

Very surprised.. We didn't expect such an amazing palace. The squire in front of it full of restaurants and cafes which we had our lunch there.. And the kids enjoyed running between the water fountains in the middle of the squire.

Much work on streets and around the palace but glad we checked it out. Interesting building and square as well as all the surrounding streets. Maintenance must be done and it will be beautiful when they are done as its looking very good already

Closed until April at least. Shame on the local tourist authorities. And, yes, I want a refund of my TGV ticket. I thought that cities should appreciate the tourists who are willing to come in the low season. Apparently not.

The view from the tower was awesome! Well worth climbing the steps. Very reasonably priced. Could use some more info on how it was built, the guide just unlocks the door.

Don't leave Dijon without seeing this splendid building and nice semi circular place just in front of it where you can sit and eat or drink a coffee and enjoy the view.

The centre of Dijon is a building site at the moment and it was hard to visit or admire anything for all the scaffolding. My wife had to queue half an hour for the single public toilet which was maddening.

The palace is occupied in part by the Musée des Beaux Arts, Dijon Tourism Office and Dijon municipal government. A fitting monument to the power of the Dukes of Burgundy, the palace will not "wow" you like Versailles, the Louvre, or Buckingham Palace, but as a regional palace, is remarkable simply in that it has survived through so much war and strife. It will nevertheless please anyone who fancies architecture. Note that the palace is undergoing extensive renovations as of June, 2012 that severely limit how much of it you can see, and the Ducal tombs have been removed are on tour. I would still suggest you visit, even with these limitations, and if the weather permits, do not miss the chance to climb the tower of Philip the Good for a great view of the City of Dijon.
